CloudMonitor:Manage alert rules

After you create an alert rule for an application group, you can modify, disable, enable, and delete the alert rule. You can also view the alert history and handle resources in a timely manner.

Modify an alert rule

If an alert rule configured for an application group cannot meet your requirements for monitoring specific cloud services, you can modify the alert rule based on your needs.

  1. Log on to the CloudMonitor console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Cloud Service Monitoring > Application Groups.

  3. On the Application Groups tab, click the name of the application group.

  4. In the left-side navigation pane, click Alert Rules.

  5. Find the alert rule that you want to modify and click Modify in the Actions column.

  6. In the Modify Alert Rule panel, configure the parameters. The following table describes the parameters.

  7. Click OK.

Disable alert rules

The default status of an alert rule that is created for an application group is Normal. If you stop a cloud service for maintenance or upgrade, you can disable the alert rules that are associated with the cloud service. This way, CloudMonitor does not send notifications for the alerts that are triggered by manual operations on the cloud service.

  1. Log on to the CloudMonitor console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Cloud Service Monitoring > Application Groups.

  3. On the Application Groups tab, click the name of the application group.

  4. In the left-side navigation pane, click Alert Rules.

  5. Disable one or more alert rules.

    • Disable a single alert rule

      1. On the Alert Rules page, find the alert rule that you want to disable, click the 更多 icon in the Actions column, and then click Disable

      2. In the Disable Alert Rule message, click Confirm.

    • Disable multiple alert rules at a time

      1. Select the alert rules that you want to disable and click Disable in the lower-left corner of the page.

      2. In the Disable Alert Rule message, click Confirm.

Enable alert rules

After you complete the maintenance or upgrade of a monitored Alibaba Cloud service, you can re-enable the associated alert rules that have been disabled during the maintenance or upgrade. After you enable an alert rule, CloudMonitor resumes sending alert notifications based on the alert rule.

  1. Log on to the CloudMonitor console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Cloud Service Monitoring > Application Groups.

  3. On the Application Groups tab, click the name of the application group.

  4. In the left-side navigation pane, click Alert Rules.

  5. Enable one or more alert rules.

    • Enable a single alert rule

      1. On the Alert Rules page, find the alert rule that you want to enable, click the 更多 icon in the Actions column, and then click Enable.

      2. In the Enable Alert Rule message, click Confirm.

    • Enable multiple alert rules at a time

      1. Select the alert rules that you want to enable and click Enable in the lower-left corner of the page.

      2. In the Enable Alert Rule message, click Confirm.

Delete alert rules

After you delete an alert rule, you no longer receive alert notifications generated based on the alert rule.

  1. Log on to the CloudMonitor console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Cloud Service Monitoring > Application Groups.

  3. On the Application Groups tab, click the name of the application group.

  4. In the left-side navigation pane, click Alert Rules.

  5. Delete one or more alert rules.

    • Delete a single alert rule

      1. Find the alert rule that you want to delete, click the 更多 icon in the Actions column, and then click Delete.

      2. In the Delete Alert message, click Confirm.

    • Delete multiple alert rules at a time

      1. Select the alert rules that you want to delete and click Delete in the lower-left corner of the page.

      2. In the Delete Alert message, click Confirm.

View historical alerts

You can view the historical alerts of a specific alert rule and resources that triggered alerts. This way, you can identify and handle exceptions at the earliest opportunity.

  1. Log on to the CloudMonitor console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Cloud Service Monitoring > Application Groups.

  3. On the Application Groups tab, click the name of the application group.

  4. In the left-side navigation pane, click Alert Rules.

  5. On the Alert Rules page, find the alert rule whose historical alerts that you want to view and click Alert History in the Actions column.

    You can view the details, alert contact group, historical alerts, and resources of the alert rule.
