EventBridge is a serverless event bus service that you can use to connect your applications to a variety of sources. These sources include Alibaba Cloud event sources, such as elastic computing services, storage services, database services, container services, big data services, observability services, and middleware services. After EventBridge is integrated with Function Compute, event sources that are connected to EventBridge can invoke functions in Function Compute to process the events generated by Alibaba Cloud services. These event sources are referred to as cloud service event triggers.
How it works
In an event-driven model, event sources produce events, functions process events, and triggers help you manage event sources in a centralized manner. EventBridge is not a single event source, but an event hub of Alibaba Cloud event sources. Triggers in EventBridge allow you to use Alibaba Cloud events as sources to trigger functions.
Benefits
After EventBridge is integrated with Function Compute, the trigger sources of EventBridge and Function Compute are synchronized. When an event source is added to EventBridge, the trigger sources of Function Compute are synchronously updated. This simplifies the way you use Function Compute.
