Object Storage Service:Use CloudMonitor

CloudMonitor automatically monitors Object Storage Service (OSS) resources that belong to the current Alibaba Cloud account. You can view the monitoring charts of OSS. You can also configure alert rules to monitor OSS resources. If an alert is triggered based on the alert rules, CloudMonitor sends an alert notification to you. This way, you are notified of the status of your OSS resources at the earliest opportunity.

Query user details

The Users tab displays the monitoring data of a user. The Users tab contains three major types of information: user-level monitoring information, monthly statistics, and user-level metrics.

  1. Log on to the CloudMonitor console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Cloud Service Monitoring.

  3. In the left-side navigation tree, click Storage & CDN. In the Storage & CDN section, select Object Storage Service.

  4. Click the Users tab to view monitoring details.

    • Monitoring Information

      You can query information, such as the numbers of alert rules, alert records, disabled rules, the storage size, the outbound traffic over the Internet, and the number of PUT and GET requests.

    • Monitoring Service Overview

      Specify a monitoring period (up to 30 days), and click the Monitoring Service Overview tab to query information, such as the availability, the number of valid requests, inbound traffic over the Internet chart, and request status distribution of the user.

      UserAvailability

      The availability and percentage of valid requests.

      UserValidRequestCount

      The number of valid requests and total requests.

      Internet Inbound Traffic by User

      The outbound traffic over the Internet, inbound traffic over the Internet, outbound traffic over the internal network, inbound traffic over the internal network, outbound traffic from Alibaba Cloud CDN, inbound traffic to Alibaba Cloud CDN, outbound traffic that is generated when you use cross-region replication (CRR), and inbound traffic that is generated when you use CRR.

      Request Status Distribution by User

      The number of requests that failed due to network errors, the number of failed authorization requests, the number of requests that failed because resources do not exist, the number of requests that failed due to other client errors, and the number of successful requests.

      You can move the pointer over the chart to query detailed data at a specific point in time.

    • Request Status Details

      Specify a time range (up to 30 days), and click the Request Status Details tab to query the details of the request status.

      • UserServerErrorCount

      • UserServerErrorRate

      • UserNetworkErrorCount

      • UserNetworkErrorRate

      • UserResourceNotFoundErrorCount: the number of requests that failed because resources do not exist, number of failed authorization requests, number of requests that failed due to client-side timeouts, and number of other failed requests on the client side

      • UserResourceNotFoundErrorRate: the ratio of requests that failed because resources do not exist, the ratio of failed authorization requests, the ratio of user-level requests that failed due to client-side timeouts, and the ratio of total requests that failed due to client-side timeouts

      • UserSuccessCount: the number of successful requests and the number of requests that involve redirection

      • UserSuccessRate: the ratio of successful requests and the ratio of the requests that involve redirection

      You can move the pointer over the chart to query detailed data at a specific point in time.

Query bucket details

On the Object Storage Service tab, you can query a list of monitored buckets and view the monitoring charts of a bucket by clicking Monitoring Charts in the Actions column. You can also click Alert Rules in the Actions column to create an alert rule for a bucket.

  1. Log on to the CloudMonitor console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Cloud Service Monitoring.

  3. In the left-side navigation tree, click Storage & CDN. In the Storage & CDN section, select Object Storage Service.

  4. On the Object Storage Service tab, query basic bucket information, including the bucket name, region, storage size, outbound traffic over the Internet, and number of GET and PUT requests.

  5. Find the bucket whose information you want to query and click Monitoring Charts in the Actions column. You can query six types of monitoring information: Monitoring Service Overview, Request Status Details, Measurement Reference, Average Latency, Maximum Latency, and Successful Request Category.

    • You can query data of the previous 30 days.

    • You can move the pointer over the chart to query detailed data at a specific point in time.

    Monitoring Service Overview

    You can view the following charts on the Monitoring Service Overview tab: Availability/Valid Request Rate, Total Number of Requests/Number of Valid Requests, Traffic, and Request Status Distribution.

    Request Status Details

    You can view the following charts on the Request Status Details tab: Number of Server Error Requests, Server Error Request Proportion, Number of Network Error Requests, Network Error Request Proportion, Number of Client Error Requests, Client Error Request Proportion, Number of Valid Requests, and Valid Request Proportion.

    Measurement Reference

    You can view the following charts on the Measurement Reference tab: Storage, Metering Flow, and Number of Billing Requests.

    Average Latency

    You can view the following charts on the Average Latency tab: GetObject Request Average Latency, HeadObject Request Average Latency, PutObject Request Average Latency, PostObject Request Average Latency, AppendObject Request Average Latency, UploadPart Request Average Latency, and UploadPartCopy Request Average Latency.

    Maximum Latency

    You can view the following charts on the Maximum Latency tab: GetObject Request Maximum Latency, HeadObject Request Maximum Latency, PutObject Request Maximum Latency, PostObject Request Maximum Latency, AppendObject Request Maximum Latency, UploadPart Request Maximum Latency, and UploadPartCopy Request Maximum Latency.

    Successful Request Category

    You can view the following charts on the Successful Request Category tab: Successful GetObject Request, Successful HeadObject Request, Successful PutObject Request, Successful PostObject Request, Successful AppendObject Request, Successful UploadPart Request, Successful UploadPartCopy Request, Successful DeleteObject Request, and Successful DeleteObjects Request.

  6. Return to the Object Storage Service tab. In the bucket list, find the desired bucket and click Alert Rules in the Actions column. On the Alert Rules page, create an alert rule or manage alert rules.
