After you create a rule or enable a compliance package, you can view the settings, compliance evaluation results, and resource remediation details of the created rule or each managed rule in the compliance package.

Use an ordinary account

If you use an ordinary account, you can view only the rules within your account.

  1. Log on to the Cloud Config console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Rules.
  3. On the Rules page, all the rules within your account are displayed.
    The following tables describe the possible statuses and compliance evaluation results of a rule.
    • Statuses
      Status Description
      Active Cloud Config is monitoring the related resources based on the rule. The rule is triggered when the resource configuration changes.
      Evaluating The rule is triggered and the compliance of related resources is being evaluated.
      Inactive The rule is disabled. Cloud Config retains the configurations of the rule. However, the rule cannot be triggered.
      Deleting Cloud Config is deleting the rule.
    • Compliance evaluation results
      Compliance evaluation result Description
      Compliant (N) N resources are evaluated to be compliant based on the rule. N indicates the number of compliant resources.
      Non-compliant (N) N resources are evaluated to be non-compliant based on the rule. N indicates the number of non-compliant resources. To view a non-compliant resource, find the rule in the rule list, click Details in the Actions column, and then go to the Result tab.
      No Data No resources are evaluated based on the rule.
      Not Applicable (N) N resources fail to be evaluated based on the rule.

Use a management account

If you use a management account, you can view the rules within your account and those within member accounts in the relevant resource directory.

  1. Log on to the Cloud Config console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Rules.
  3. On the Rules page, click the required account group tab.
  4. On the account group tab, all the rules within the member accounts in the account group are displayed.
    The following tables describe the possible statuses and compliance evaluation results of a rule.
    • Statuses
      Status Description
      Active Cloud Config is monitoring the related resources based on the rule. The rule is triggered when the resource configuration changes.
      Evaluating The rule is triggered and the compliance of related resources is being evaluated.
