Dynamic Content Delivery Network:FAQ

Last Updated:Jan 03, 2024

This article introduces the common problems and solutions of IP application accelerator.

What are the main differences between IP Application Accelerator and Dynamic Content Delivery Network?

  • IP Application Accelerator: Layer-4 acceleration service to accelerate generic TCP and UDP-based applications, such as the email protocol, FTP transfer, and HTTPS protocols.

  • Dynamic Content Delivery Network: Layer-7 acceleration service to accelerate HTTP/S applications, available on port 80 and 443.

Can IP Application Accelerator accelerate HTTP and HTTPS?

Can accelerate.

Both HTTP and HTTPS are TCP-based, so they can be accelerated. If your HTTPS service enables IP application accelerator, you must deploy your HTTPS certificate on IPA, and you must pay separately for the number of HTTPS requests to implement acceleration.

Note

IP application acceleration is pure dynamic transmission, and the cache is not set on IP application acceleration.

Does IP Application Accelerator Use Domain Name Access or IP Address Access?

Service access by Domain Name.

Note

domain name connection will reduce your O&M costs. You only need to use one domain name to connect to local users.

Where are IP Application Accelerator Access Points distributed?

IP application accelerator nodes are widely distributed in various provinces, municipalities and regions, providing users with proximity access points. At the same time, it provides users with the same operator's network connection.

How can I ensure that IP application accelerator is connected to the nearest acceleration node?

You need to add and configure domain names in the console. Alibaba Cloud will use the IP of the acceleration node as the resolution result of the domain name, and through the intelligent routing, it will assign user to the node located inside the same operator network, thus reducing the network jitter.

Is the billing of IP application accelerator on top of that of DCDN?

IP application accelerator is billed independently. It is only billed for the traffic part and does not charge for the number of HTTP requests.
