AnalyticDB for MySQL:Billable items of Data Warehouse Edition (V3.0)

Last Updated:Jul 03, 2023

This topic describes the billable items and billing rules of AnalyticDB for MySQL Data Warehouse Edition (V3.0) clusters in Elastic mode for Cluster Edition and Reserved mode for Cluster Edition.

Elastic mode for Cluster Edition

Bill composition

The following figure shows the bill composition for AnalyticDB for MySQL clusters in elastic mode for Cluster Edition.elasticmode

Description of billable items

The following tables describe the billing methods and how the fees for each billable item are calculated.

Basic resources

Basic resources include computing resources and elastic I/O resources.

Billable item

Billing method

Description

Computing resources

Pay-as-you-go

Subscription

Billing scope:

You are billed for basic computing resources when:

  • You purchase a cluster.

  • You scale up a cluster and more resources are occupied by the cluster. For more information about the changes that may affect your bills, see Billing of configuration changes.

Fee calculation:

  • Basic Edition

Basic computing resource fee = Unit price of basic computing resource specifications × Usage duration

  • Cluster Edition

Basic computing resource fee: Unit price per compute node × Number of nodes × Usage duration

Note

The minimum size of a Cluster Edition cluster is 32 cores and 128 GB memory, where each node is defined as having 16 cores and 64 GB memory.

Elastic I/O resources (optional)

Pay-as-you-go

Subscription

Billing scope:

You are billed for elastic I/O resources when you purchase elastic I/O resources or change their specifications when you scale up a cluster. For more information about the billing rules for scale-up, see Billing of configuration changes.

Limits:

Elastic I/O resources can be purchased only for elastic clusters that have a minimum of 32 cores and 128 GB memory.

Recommendations:

When purchasing elastic I/O resources, we recommend that you purchase enough elastic I/O units (EIUs) to have at least half the number of basic computing resource cores in your cluster.

Fee calculation:

Elastic I/O resource fee = Unit price per EIU × Number of EIUs × Usage duration

Elastic resources

Elastic resources refer to the computing resources that are used to scale up resources.

Billable item

Billing method

Description

Elastic computing resources (optional)

Pay-as-you-go

Billing scope:

You are billed for elastic computing resources when resource scaling is performed based on the scaling plans that you create.

The scaling plans must be of the Default Proportional Scaling for Computing Resources and EIUs type.

Limits:

Support for resource scaling may be limited by the minor version and specifications of your cluster. For more information, see Create a resource scaling plan.

Fee calculation:

Elastic computing resource fee = Unit price of elastic computing resources per compute node × Number of compute nodes × Usage duration

Note

Each compute node is defined as having 16 cores and 64 GB memory.

Storage

Billable item

Billing method

Description

  • Hot data storage

  • Cold data storage

Pay-as-you-go

Billing scope:

You are billed for storage resources based on the actual storage space occupied.

You can purchase storage for both subscription and pay-as-you-go clusters. The unit price of storage for subscription clusters is different from that for pay-as-you-go clusters.

Fee calculation:

Storage fee = Hot data storage fee + Cold data storage fee

  • Hot data storage fee = Unit price of hot data storage × Data volume × Usage duration

  • Cold data storage fee = Unit price of cold data storage × Data volume × Usage duration

Viewing storage information:

You can log on to the AnalyticDB for MySQL console and go to the Monitoring Information page to view the amount of storage used for hot data and cold data. For more information, see View monitoring information.

Reserved mode for Cluster Edition

The following figure shows the bill composition for AnalyticDB for MySQL clusters in reserved mode for Cluster Edition.国际预留模式计费The following table describes the billing rules for each billable item.

Billable item

Billing method

Description

Compute nodes

Pay-as-you-go

Subscription

Compute nodes are billed based on the instance type, number of node groups, and usage duration.

Compute node fee = Unit price per node group × Number of node groups × Usage duration

Storage

Pay-as-you-go

Subscription

Storage is billed based on the instance type, number of node groups, storage size, and usage duration.

Storage fee = Unit price of storage × Storage size × Number of node groups × Usage duration

Billing examples

Important

The following billing examples are provided for reference only. See the service console or buy page to obtain the actual prices of individual resources.

Example 1

You purchase a subscription cluster in elastic mode for Cluster Edition in the China (Hong Kong) region. The cluster uses four compute nodes that provide basic computing resources of 64 cores and 256 GB memory. The subscription period is six months.

Total fees = USD 678.25 per node-month × 4 compute nodes × 6 months = USD 16,278.

Example 2

You purchase a pay-as-you-go cluster in elastic mode for Cluster Edition in the Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) region. The cluster uses two compute nodes that provide basic computing resources of 32 cores and 128 GB memory. The cluster also stores 1,000 GB of hot data and 3,000 GB of cold data. The cluster is used for 10 days.

The following table describes the fees for individual resources.

Billable item

Fee

Basic computing resources

USD 1.2326 per node-hour × 2 compute nodes × 24 hours × 10 days = USD 591.648

Hot data storage

USD 0.000892 per GB-hour × 1,000 GB × 24 hours × 10 days = USD 214.08

Cold data storage

USD 0.000042 per GB-hour × 3,000 GB × 24 hours × 10 days = USD 30.24

Total fees = USD 591.648 + USD 214.08 + USD 30.24 = USD 835.968.
