Term Full name Description
Domain name Domain name A string used to represent the server address. Multiple domain names are separated by dots (.).
File Transfer Protocol (FTP) File Transfer Protocol A protocol used to transmit data between computers.
Domain name resolution Domain name resolution A process or service that converts a domain name to an IP address or other address.
Canonical name (CNAME) record Canonical name record The CNAME allows you to map multiple names to the same server. Generally, it is used on servers that provide both www and mail services.
Domain name bind Domain Name Bind A process that binds a domain name to a server. After resolving a domain name to a server, you must bind the domain name to the server for proper access to the website.
Index page Index page The index page is opened by default when a website is accessed.
Decompression Decompression A process that extracts files from compressed packages. When you upload and download multiple files, you can compress them into a package. After transmission, you must decompress the package to extracts the files.
Log report Log report A graphical report generated through the access logs of the website. It shows the access distribution conditions, such as file distribution, visitors’ location, and browsers.
Resource monitor Resource monitor A function that allows you to view usage of Web Hosting resources, such as the CPU and memory, by diagrams.
