Starting October 7, 2025, WhatsApp will change its messaging limits. The changes are as follows:
Messaging limits will be calculated and set on a business portfolio basis, instead of on a per-number basis. The limits will be shared by all business phone numbers within each portfolio.
The messaging limit for a newly created business portfolio is 250. It automatically scales to 2,000, 10,000, 100,000, or unlimited if the following conditions are met:
You are sending high-quality messagesa cross all of your business phone numbers and templates.
In the last 7 days, your business has utilized at least half of your current messaging limit.
If your business phone number quality rating drops, its messaging limit will not be downgraded.
Examples:
Before October 7:
If you have multiple WABAs, each with several numbers, each number has an independent messaging limit. For example, Number A has a limit of 1,000 and Number B has a limit of 10,000.
Starting October 7:
If you have two WABAs, each with two numbers (a total of four numbers), and the highest messaging limit for any of these numbers is 100,000, then all four numbers will share a single messaging limit of 100,000.
