Transcoding:

A static preset template can be used to transcode a video, which meets your requirements for audio, video, and video segments.
The processing logic of the pixFmt parameter is optimized. If the value that you specify is valid, the specified color format is used. If the value that you specify is invalid or you leave the parameter empty, the original color format is used. If the original color format is invalid or is incompatible with other transcoding settings, the default value yuv420p is used.
The parameters of a transcoding job can be specified to overwrite the parameters of the custom transcoding template that is specified by the transcoding job.
The message notification feature is supported for snapshot jobs and media information analysis jobs. This feature is in public preview.
The efficiency of H.265 video transcoding is improved.

MPS console:

Interface interaction is optimized.
Preset static templates can be used to transcode objects stored in OSS.

Bug fixes:

The issue that the transcoding fails because the resolution of an input video is set to a specific value is fixed.

A transcoded audio file can be in one of the following formats: MP3 container with MP3 audio, MP4 container with AAC audio, OGG container with Vorbis or FLAC audio, and FLAC container with FLAC audio.
The number of sound channels can be 1 or 2.
The audio capture feature is supported.
M3U8 sharding is optimized.

MPS console:

Relevant OSS buckets can be accessed when you create a transcoding job for objects stored in OSS.
The authorization method used to access OSS is updated, which is consistent with Message Service (MNS) authorization.
Audio transcoding templates can be created.

Billing:

The billing module is released. From September 1, 2015, you are charged for H.264 video transcoding.

Bug fixes:

The issue that a transcoding job fails because the transcoding output is in Chinese is fixed.
The issue that the output file is inconsistent with the specified segment and duration parameters is fixed.

API operations:

The meta information operation is renamed as the SubmitMediaInfoJob operation. You can call this operation to query the media format information and audio, video, and subtitle stream information.
The UserData parameter is added to some API operations. You can specify this parameter to store user-defined data, which allows you to flexibly extend your business logic.
The job priority feature is supported:
- The quota of user transcoding resources is changed from the length of videos that are simultaneously transcoded to the number of those videos.
- The job priority feature is supported by the MPS queue for transcoding.
- The message notification feature is in public preview. You can specify the recipients who can receive notifications after a transcoding job or template analysis job is complete.

MPS console:

The MPS console can be accessed over HTTPS.
The MPS console is integrated with the control center on the Alibaba Cloud official website.
The OSS object transcoding process is supported.
The features of adding media assets and submitting media asset jobs are removed from the media asset transcoding process. The media library will be reconstructed.
The message notification integration feature is in public preview. The following features are supported: Cloud resource authorization management supports MNS authorization. You can create MNS topics and specify callback URLs. You can also associate an MPS queue with an MNS topic.

Billing:

After the billing module is released, MPS bills are generated in the User Center, but no fees are deducted. Fees are charged for the bills from September 1, 2015.

Bug fixes:

The issue that the resolution is incorrectly specified for the H.265 codec is fixed.
