Quick BI supports a Q Chat feature for dashboards. On the dashboard preview page, use natural language to ask questions and receive data results instantly. This feature makes data analysis accessible to everyone and introduces a new way to consume data. This topic describes how to use the Quick BI Q Chat feature on a dashboard.
Smart Q features are currently available only in the China (Hong Kong) and Malaysia sites.
Limits
Dashboards embedded into third-party systems using the enhanced embedding solution do not support the Quick BI Q Chat feature.
Configuration
On the dashboard edit page, follow the steps shown in the figure to open the Q Chat Configuration interface.

Click Enable Q Chat.

On the Q Chat configuration page, view the Q Chat enablement and learning status for the dashboard's datasets. Configure Q Chat settings and manage permissions for the dashboard and its datasets as needed.
NoteEnabled datasets are added to the Q Chat resource pool. Users can retrieve data from these datasets by asking questions in natural language.
Disabled datasets cannot be used in Q Chat. This means no user can ask questions about these datasets.
Ensure that at least one dataset is enabled.
Configure Q Chat and manage permissions for datasets
In the Operations column on the Q Chat configuration page, click the
icon to navigate to the dataset. There, you can configure Q Chat settings and set Q Chat permissions.
If Q Chat is not enabled for a dataset that the dashboard uses, click Enable Q Chat and configure the Q Chat settings. Skip this step for datasets where Q Chat is already enabled.

After enabling Q Chat and completing the configuration, click Add Authorization in the Q Chat Permissions section.

Select users to grant permissions to and set an expiration date.

Click Done. You can now view and manage the authorized users for this Q Chat dataset.

Manage Q Chat permissions for the dashboard
On the Q Chat configuration page, click the Quick BI Q Chat Permission Management button and grant users Q Chat permissions for the dashboard as needed.

On the Quick BI Q Chat Permission Management page, follow the steps in the figure to select a user. Then, on the By Dashboard tab, click Add Authorization.

Select a dashboard in the target workspace to grant Q Chat authorization, and then click Done.

You can now view and manage the dashboard Q Chat resources that the user has permissions for.

Access Quick BI Q Chat on a dashboard
On the dashboard preview page, click the
icon to open the Quick BI Smart Analysis page by default.NoteIf data interpretation is not enabled for the dashboard, the Quick BI Q Chat page opens directly.

Switch to Q Chat.

Go to the Q Chat dashboard.

Responsive page layout
On the dashboard Q Chat page, you can manually drag to change the width. The page layout adjusts automatically.

When the Q Chat page width is below a certain range, the page appears as follows:

You can click the
icon (①) to create a new conversation, or click the
icon (②) to expand the conversation history list.
When the Q Chat page width exceeds the threshold, the page overlays the report and appears as follows:
NoteThe maximum width of the Q Chat page is 90% of the screen.
Preview and select datasets
On the dashboard Q Chat page, you can see the datasets that the dashboard uses. Hover over a dataset to preview it or ask questions based on it.

Click (①) to view the dataset's field details and data preview. You can also use quick questions or click Ask in the upper-right corner to open the dashboard Q Chat dialog box.

Ask questions and get answers
Quick BI Q Chat supports multiple inference and data interpretation methods. This example uses the default official inference and data interpretation methods. For analysis results from other methods, see Inference and interpretation methods.
You can enter a question in the dialog box and send it. You can ask a question directly, use quick questions, or use speech input.
Ask a question directly
For example, enter "What is the total order amount from mobile clients?" and send it. The system returns the data analysis results.

To see the analysis process, click Analysis complete to display it.

When you type, matching recommended fields and recommended questions may appear. For example, if you enter "2024", the following recommended fields and questions appear. You can select them as needed.

Favorite questions
NoteYou can add up to 30 questions to your favorites.
Click the
icon to the left of a question to add it to your favorites.
After you add a question to your favorites, you can use it from Quick questions.

If no data is selected, you can click a favorite question to ask it directly.

Smart Insights supports anomaly detection and fluctuation analysis.

Click "Help me detect anomalies in the report" to return the anomalies in the data.

You can click to view the specific anomaly details.

For information about fluctuation analysis, see Use fluctuation analysis in Quick questions.

For questions in Favorites, you can select Automatically switch datasets. This option is selected by default. If selected, clicking a favorite question switches to the attached dataset and asks the question. If not selected, the question is asked on the current dataset.

Speech input
NoteAfter you enable the voice Q Chat switch, you can ask questions using speech input.
Click the speech input icon to open the voice conversation interface.

Ask a question in the voice conversation interface.
