Cloud Backup offers a 30-day free trial for some data sources. During the free trial, all fees for the Cloud Backup product are waived, regardless of the data source size. You can switch to a paid plan at any time during the trial. If you do not switch to a paid plan before the trial expires, your backup jobs automatically stop. The backup data generated during the free trial is deleted seven days after the backup jobs stop. To ensure your data is secure, switch to a paid plan before the trial ends. This topic describes the details of the 30-day free trial.
Limits
The following enterprise-level features are not available during the 30-day free trial: backup policies, automatic archiving, immutable backups, or virus detection for backup points.
Backup plan limits: You cannot edit the source path or backup cycle. The backup interval is fixed at one day and the retention period is fixed at one week. Each free trial backup plan uses a separate backup vault, which cannot be changed after you switch to a paid plan.
Backup plans created using the Associate Resource Tag (Optional) feature in a backup policy are not eligible for the 30-day free trial. For more information, see Associate resource tags.
Switch to a paid plan
You can switch to a paid plan in one of the following three ways:
When you create a free trial plan, you can click Switch to Paid Plan to immediately switch to a paid plan.
On the Backup Plans page, find the free trial plan that you want to manage. In the Status column, click . The plan will then automatically switch to a paid plan after the 30-day trial ends. Alternatively, click to switch to a paid plan immediately.
On the Backup Vaults page, the procedure depends on the backup vault type. For a Tablestore backup vault, go to the Actions column and click to switch to a paid plan immediately. For an OSS or NAS backup vault, go to the Status column and select . The plan will then automatically switch to a paid plan after the 30-day trial ends. Alternatively, you can select to switch to a paid plan immediately.
After you switch to a paid plan, you can edit the backup policy.
Go to the Backup Plans page. In the Actions column of the plan, click . In the Policy Center, create a new backup policy based on the displayed backup vault information. You can then set the backup cycle and enable enterprise-level features as needed.
On the Edit Plan page, select the backup policy that you created from the Backup Policy drop-down list. This action binds the policy to the plan and completes the initial configuration. To adjust policy details later, you can edit the policy directly in the Policy Center.
