Cloud Phone:Quick start: Create and connect to a cloud phone

This topic describes how to quickly purchase and use a Cloud Phone.

Prerequisites

Create an instance group

This process is a straightforward way to purchase a Cloud Phone without custom configurations.

  1. Log on to the Cloud Phone console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Manage Resource > Instance Group.

  3. On the Instance Group page, click Create Instance Group.

  4. On the Create Instance Group page, configure the following parameters. Then, click Buy Now and complete the payment.

    Description

    Billing Method

    Select a billing method. For example, select Pay-as-you-go.

    Duration

    If you select the Subscription billing method, select a subscription period. This option is not used in this guide.

    Instance Group Name

    Enter a name for the instance group.

    Available Region

    Select the region where you want to create the Cloud Phone. To reduce latency, we recommend selecting the region geographically closest to your end users.

    Specifications

    Select a specification for the Cloud Phone. For example, select Lightweight.

    Image

    Select an image for the Cloud Phone. For example, select System Image (Android 12 system image).

    Quantity

    Enter the number of Cloud Phones to purchase. For example, enter 1.

    Configure Network

    Select a network type. For example, select Shared Network.

    Attach

    Select a policy for the Cloud Phone. For example, select wuying_default_policy.

Install an application

You must create an application before you can install it on a Cloud Phone. For more information, see Create and manage applications.

  1. Log on to the Cloud Phone console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Applications & Files > Application.

  3. On the Application page, find the application that you want to install, and then click Install Application in the Actions column.

  4. In the Install Application panel, select the target instance group in the Instance Groups section, and then click OK.

    Note

    The installation is complete when the Status of the application changes to Installed..

Connect to a Cloud Phone

Administrator (console)

As an administrator, you can connect directly to a Cloud Phone from the console.

  1. Log on to the Cloud Phone console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Manage Resource > Instance.

  3. On the Instance page, find the Cloud Phone instance that you want to connect to, and then click Connect in the Actions column.

  4. On the Connect page, click the connect icon in the center of the Cloud Phone card.

End user (client)

After you assign a Cloud Phone to an end user, they can connect to it by logging on to the Alibaba Cloud Workspace client.

Step 1: Assign a cloud phone

  1. Log on to the Cloud Phone console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Manage Resource > Instance.

  3. On the Instance page, find the cloud phone instance to assign. In the Actions column, click the ⋮ icon and select Assign User.

  4. In the Assign User panel, select a user account from the Available Users section, and then click OK.

    Note

    Click Go Now to go to the EDS Enterprise console and create a user account. After creation, click the refresh icon in the upper-right corner of the Available Users section.

    After the assignment succeeds, login credentials are sent to the user's email address.

  5. (Optional) To unassign a cloud phone, find it on the Instance page, click the ⋮ icon in its Actions column, and select Unassign.

Step 2: Connect as an end user

End users can connect to a Cloud Phone from a desktop client, web client, or mobile client. This topic uses a desktop client as an example.

  1. Open the client and select Enterprise Edition & Commercial Edition at the top. At the bottom, accept the privacy policy, enter your organization ID or office network ID, and click the icon.

  2. On the Account Sign-in tab, enter your username and password, and then click the icon.

    Note

    On first sign-in, you must create a new password. The initial password expires after three days. Click Forgot Password to reset an expired password.

    After sign-in, the client displays your assigned cloud resources, such as cloud computers and cloud applications.

  3. On the cloud resource list, click the connect icon on a resource card to begin your session.

Developer (ADB)

Developers can connect to a Cloud Phone using the Android Debug Bridge (ADB). For more information, see Connect to a Cloud Phone by using ADB.
