This topic provides answers to some frequently asked questions about the bandwidth plans of Global Accelerator (GA).

What types of bandwidth plans does GA provide?

GA provides basic bandwidth plans.

A basic bandwidth plan provides bandwidth for data transfer over the Internet and within Alibaba Cloud. To use the GA service, you must purchase a basic bandwidth plan. Basic bandwidth plans are available in the following bandwidth types: basic, enhanced, and premium. The acceleration type, accelerated backend service, and acceleration scope of a basic bandwidth plan vary based on the bandwidth type. For more information, see Purchase and manage basic bandwidth plans.

Do basic bandwidth and enhanced bandwidth have differences in terms of bandwidth quality?

No.

Basic bandwidth and enhanced bandwidth apply to different scenarios, but provide the same bandwidth quality. For more information, see Purchase and manage basic bandwidth plans.

What are the scenarios that premium bandwidth applies to?

Premium bandwidth is ideal for scenarios in which both the acceleration region and the service region are outside the Chinese mainland. Premium bandwidth can accelerate Internet-facing services regardless of whether the services are deployed on or off Alibaba Cloud. To accelerate data transfer between the Chinese mainland and regions outside the Chinese mainland, you must select China (Hong Kong) as the acceleration region.

Can bandwidth plans be downgraded?

Currently, basic bandwidth plans can only be upgraded and cannot be downgraded.

What do I do if an error is prompted when I disassociate a bandwidth plan from a GA instance?

Before you disassociate a basic bandwidth plan from a GA instance, make sure that you have deleted the acceleration areas and listeners of the GA instance. For more information, see Delete a listener and Delete an acceleration area.
