View subscription data

You can view the subscription instance change data on the DTS console. The time range of data available for viewing is the data range of the subscription instance.

This section introduces the methods to view subscription data and the meaning of each field in the data record.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Alibaba Cloud DTS console.

  2. On the Data synchronization page, click View subscription data under the synchronization instance to be viewed.

    The view function is available to subscription channels in normal and abnormal status. It does not support subscription instances in initialization and pre-check status.

  3. On the prompt subscription data page, select a time range to view the change data.

    The selected period must be within the time range of the subscription instance.

Subscription data field meaning

The subscription data format displayed is an internal data format of DTS. The meaning of each field in the data record is explained as follows:

  • Service ID: The IP:PORT of the RDS instance.

  • Database name: The name of the database the change record belongs to.

  • Table name: The name of the table the change record belongs to.

  • Change type: The change type of the change record, which includes: update, delete, insert, replace, begin, commit, ddl, dml, and heartbeat. Where,

    • Heartbeat is a dedicated beat record of DTS used to monitor the health of the subscription instance. One beat per second indicates that the subscription instance is healthy. Otherwise, the subscription channel is abnormal.
  • Checkpoint: The checkpoint of the change record in binlog, in the format of binlog_file_offset@binlog_file_id. In specific,

    • binlog_file_id is the postfix of the binlog file name.
    • binlog_file_offset is the offset of this binlog log in the binlog file.
  • Timestamp: The timestamp where the change record is written into the binlog file.

  • Field name: The name of each field corresponding to this change record.

  • Field type: The data type of each field corresponding to this change record.

  • Field encoding: The character set encoding of the corresponding change record.

  • Front image: The values of each field before the change. The insert operation is not supported.

  • Rear image: The values of each field after the change. The delete operation is not supported.

    delete

    The update operation has values in both the front and rear images.

    The DDL and DML operations only have field details. This does not include field name, field type, field encoding, pre-image, or post-image.
