ApsaraDB RDS:General workflow to use ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server

This topic describes how to create and use an ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server instance.

General workflow

If this is the first time that you use ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the limits of ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server. For more information, see Limits of ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server.

Before you use an ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server instance, you must perform the following operations:

  1. Create an RDS for instance. For more information, see Create an ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server instance.

  2. Create accounts and databases. For more information, see Create accounts and databases for an ApsaraDB RDS instance.

  3. Configure an IP address whitelist. For more information, see Configure an IP address whitelist for an ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server instance.

  4. Apply for or release a public endpoint. For more information, see Apply for or release a public endpoint for an ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server instance.

  5. Connect to the RDS instance. For more information, see Connect to an ApsaraDB RDS for SQL Server instance.
