If you cannot connect to your Linux server because Secure Shell (SSH) configurations are modified or due to some other reasons, you can use the rescue feature in the Simple Application Server console to temporarily log on to the server for troubleshooting.
Background information
Only Linux servers support the rescue feature. The simple application servers that are created from the following images are all Linux servers:
Linux-based application images
Linux operating system (OS) images such as CentOS, Debian, and Ubuntu images
Procedure
Log on to the Simple Application Server console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Servers.
Find the server to which you cannot connect and click the server card.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
On the Connect page, click the Rescue tab.
Click Reset Rescue Connection Password, enter and confirm a rescue password, and then click OK.
Before you use the rescue feature to connect to a server, you must set a rescue connection password. If you have not set a logon password for the server or if you forget the logon password of the server, you must also click Reset Server Password to set or reset the logon password.
Click Rescue Connection and enter the rescue password to connect to the server.
On the command line, enter the username
rootand the logon password of the server.If the information shown in the following figure is displayed, the logon is successful.
