This topic describes how to reset or change the password of a convenience user.

Background information

Elastic Desktop Service (EDS) provides two account systems: convenience accounts and enterprise Active Directory (AD) accounts.
  • Convenience accounts are a dedicated account system of EDS. You can use a client to reset or change the passwords of convenience users.
  • Enterprise AD accounts are managed by enterprise AD systems. You can contact the administrator to reset the passwords of AD users.
    Note

AD users can use the client to change their passwords the first time they log on to the client or when their passwords have expired.

Reset a password

If you forget your password when you attempt to log on to the client, you can initiate a request to reset your password. The system sends an email to your email address. Then, you can click the link in the email to reset the password. Perform the following steps:

  1. Double-click the Client icon icon to open the client.
  2. Optional: In the Configuration step, complete the configurations and click Next Step.
The first time you log on to the client, you must make logon configurations. The next time you log on to the client, the system uses these configurations and skips this step. For more information, see Connect to a cloud desktop from a client.
  3. In the Account Login step, click Forget Password.
  4. In the Apply for Password Resetting dialog box, enter your username and email address and click OK.
  5. Check the email sent by the system to your email address and click the link in the email to reset the password.
