You can publish a custom image that is in the Available state as a community image. This topic describes how to publish a custom image in the ECS console.

Prerequisites

  • The owner of each community image is responsible for the quality and updates of the image. Alibaba Cloud provides only the platform where community images are published and managed. Therefore, you must fully understand Product terms, Term of use and Membership agreement before you publish a community image.
  • No sensitive words are contained in the name and description of the community image to be published, and no trojans, vulnerabilities, or weak passwords are contained in the community image.

Background information

Before you publish a community image, take note of the following items:
  • Encrypted images cannot be published as community images.
  • You must sign Product terms, Term of use and Membership agreement before you can publish a community image.
  • Community images are publicly available. A community image is available to all Alibaba Cloud accounts in the region where it locates.
  • Community images cannot be shared, exported, or copied.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Images page.
    1. Log on to the ECS console.
    2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Instances & Images > Images.
    3. In the top navigation bar, select a region.
  2. On the Custom Image tab, find the custom image to be published as a community image. Move the point over the Icon in the Actions column icon in the Actions column and select Published as Community Mirror.
  3. In the Published as Community Mirror message, click OK to publish the community image.
    • If you have not signed Community Mirror Agreement, read and select I have understood the risks and agreed to the Community Mirror Agreement., and then click Publish.
      Notice Read Product terms, Term of use and Membership agreement before you sign it.
    • If you have signed Community Mirror Agreement, click OK.
    After the community image is published, you can go to the Images page, and click the Community mirror image tab to view information of the published community image.
