The network performance feature provides network latency data for different Alibaba Cloud network types. You can also use this feature to view real-time and historical average latency. This feature allows you to select a suitable region or zone when you set up services.

Statements

  • The network latency and other performance data provided by the network performance feature are for your reference only. Alibaba Cloud provides no commitment or guarantee for the accuracy of data. The actual network performance shall prevail.
  • The network latency and other performance data provided by the network performance feature are based on a detection cluster built by Alibaba Cloud. The staging machines deployed in the detection cluster regularly send and receive probe packets, and then send the statistics to the network performance feature. The staging machines deployed in the detection cluster are isolated from your resources. Therefore, your resources remain unaffected. The data displayed by the network performance feature is irrelevant to the resources that you deploy on Alibaba Cloud.

Supported regions

Area Supported region
Asia Pacific China (Qingdao), China (Beijing), China (Zhangjiakou), China (Hohhot), China (Ulanqab), China (Hangzhou), China (Shanghai), China (Shenzhen), China (Heyuan), China (Guangzhou), China (Chengdu), China (Hong Kong), Japan (Tokyo), Singapore (Singapore), Australia (Sydney), Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), and Indonesia (Jakarta)

Performance metrics

  • Within-Region: You can view network latency between compute instances and block storage that belong to the same region.
    • Compute Instance Connection:
      • You can view the average latency between compute instances that belong to each zone of the same region. You can view real-time latency and historical latency within the last 30 days.
      • The Alibaba Cloud detection cluster may not be able to cover some specific zones. Therefore, latency information about these zones may be unavailable. The actual latency shall prevail.
    • Block Storage Connection:
      • You can view average latency between different types of block storage and compute instances that belong to the same zone. You can view real-time latency and historical latency within the last 30 days.
      • Different types of block storage are supported by different zones. If latency information about a specific type of block storage is unavailable, it indicates that the zone does not support the type of block storage.
  • Cross-Region: You can view average latency between compute instances that belong to different regions. You can view real-time latency and historical latency within the last 30 days.
