You can use subpartitioning to divide a partitioned table into smaller subsets that are stored on the same or different servers. If a partition is subpartitioned, it has at least one subpartition. If a table is subpartitioned, data is stored in the corresponding subpartitions instead of the partitions in the table.
Syntax
You can perform various operations on subpartitions, such as adding subpartitions to partitioned tables, merging subpartitions, splitting subpartitions, and deleting subpartitions. For more information about the commands and descriptions of subpartitioning, see Command list for partitioned tables.
