Your applications may be deployed across multiple environments such as the development and staging environments, or across multiple regions. In this case, you may need to synchronize the configurations of the applications among the environments or regions. You can create multiple namespaces, create a configuration record in one of the namespace, and then synchronize the configuration record to other namespaces.

Synchronize configurations among namespaces in the same region

  1. Log on to the EDAS console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Configuration Management > Configurations.
  3. Optional: On the Configurations page, select the namespace to which the configuration record that you want to manage belongs. Alternatively, you can set Group, Data ID, Application, and Label to filter configuration records.
Set filter conditions to filter configuration records
  4. On the Configurations page, select the configuration record that you want to manage and click Clone below the configuration list.
  5. In the Clone Configuration dialog box, set the parameters and click Cloning.
    Set the parameters
    Parameter Description
Destination Namespace Select the namespace to which you want to synchronize the configuration record.
Same Configurations Specify how to manage duplicate configuration records between the source and destination namespaces. Configuration records are considered duplicate if their data IDs and groups are the same.
    • Stop Cloning: terminates the cloning process. The selected configuration record is not synchronized to the specified namespace.
    • Skip: skips duplicate settings and synchronizes other settings to the specified namespace.
    • Override: overwrites the duplicate configuration record in the specified namespace with the selected configuration record.

Synchronize configurations among different regions

  1. Log on to the EDAS console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Configuration Management > Configurations.
  3. On the Configurations page, select the region where the source namespace is located from the top navigation bar. Select the namespace, select the configuration record that you want to manage, and then click Export below the configuration list.
  4. In the Export Configuration dialog box, check the information and click Export.
The configuration record is exported to a ZIP file.
  5. On the Configurations page, select the region where the destination namespace is located from the top navigation bar. Select the namespace and click Import Configuration.
  6. In the Import Configuration dialog box, upload the file and click Import.
    Set the parameters
    Parameter Description
Target namespace Displays the namespace to which the configuration record is synchronized. The namespace is the one that you have selected on the Configurations page. You cannot change the namespace in this dialog box.
Same Configurations Specify how to manage duplicate configuration records between the source and destination namespaces. Configuration records are considered duplicate if their data IDs and groups are the same.
    • Terminate import: terminates the import process. The selected configuration record is not synchronized to the specified namespace.
    • Skip: skips duplicate settings and synchronizes other settings to the specified namespace.
    • Override: overwrites the duplicate configuration record in the specified namespace with the selected configuration record.
Configuration File Click Upload and select the ZIP file that you have exported.
Notice If you want to modify the configuration, do not directly modify it on your on-premises machine before the configuration is imported to the specified namespace. Otherwise, you may fail to upload the file. We recommend that you modify the file after you have imported it to the specified namespace.
