Cluster workspace overview

In OceanBase, a cluster is a set of cloud resources for running OceanBase Database. It is associated with several server nodes and cloud resources such as the virtual private cloud (VPC). You can view the details of all your OceanBase clusters in the OceanBase management console.

View the basic information of a cluster

On the Clusters page, click the name of a cluster to go to the Cluster Workspace page and view information such as Cluster Specifications, Storage Type, Storage Space, Deployment Mode, Availability Zone, OB Version, Maintenance Window, and Cluster Whitelist of the cluster.1

Create a tenant

In the upper-right corner, click Create Tenant. For details, see Create a tenant.

Set the whitelist

In the upper-right corner, click Set Whitelist, enter the allowed IP addresses in the dialog box that appears, and then click OK to add the whitelist. 1

Scale out the storage space

  1. Click the More icon in the upper-right corner and choose Storage Scale-out.

  2. In the dialog box that appears, click OK.

  3. Specify the size of storage you want to add and select Service Agreement.

  4. Click Buy Now and make the payment.1

Note

You can scale out the storage space only when the states of all tenants in the cluster are Running. During the storage scale-out, services will be unavailable for several seconds. Therefore, perform this operation during off-peak hours.

Scale out node specifications

  1. Click the More icon in the upper-right corner and choose Node Specification Scale-out.

  2. In the dialog box that appears, click OK.

  3. Select the required node specification and select Service Agreement.

  4. Click Buy Now and make the payment.1

Note

You can scale out the node specification only when the states of all tenants in the cluster are Running. During the node specification scale-out, services will be unavailable for several seconds. Therefore, perform this operation during off-peak hours.

Renew the subscription

  1. Click the More icon in the upper-right corner and choose Renew.

  2. In the dialog box that appears, click OK.

  3. Specify the subscription term to be renewed and select Service Agreement.

  4. Click Buy Now and make the payment.4

Compact data

  • Manual compaction: Click Compact Data or the icon next to Data Compaction.3

  • Scheduled compaction: Click the edit icon after Data Compaction to set the data compaction time, and then click OK.

    Note

    To ensure normal business operation, we recommend that you perform data compaction during off-peak hours.

View nodes

View the name, zone, specifications, and status of each node.2

View the topology view

View the topology view of the current cluster.1
