Enterprise Distributed Application Service (EDAS) is a platform-as-a-service (PaaS) system that provides Elastic Compute Service (ECS)-related and Kubernetes-related resources. This topic describes the ECS-related resources in EDAS and how to manage these resources.
The ECS-related resources in EDAS includes namespaces, virtual private clouds (VPCs), clusters, and ECS instances.
|Namespace||Namespaces are used to provide isolated runtime environments, such as the development, test, and production environments. You can use namespaces to isolate resources and services. You can use one account to achieve centralized management.||You can create, edit, and delete namespaces. For more information, see Manage microservice namespaces.|
|VPC||VPCs in Alibaba Cloud are completely isolated. If you have high network security requirements, you can create clusters and deploy applications in VPCs.||You can create and manage VPCs in the VPC console. The changes are automatically synchronized to EDAS.|
|Cluster||A cluster is a collection of cloud resources that are required to run applications. EDAS provides the following two types of ECS clusters: Alibaba Cloud ECS clusters and hybrid cloud ECS clusters.||You can create, scale out, manage, and delete Alibaba Cloud ECS clusters and hybrid cloud ECS clusters.|
|ECS||ECS is a basic cloud computing service that is provided by Alibaba Cloud. ECS instances are used to deploy applications.||The EDAS console provides the link to the ECS buy page. You must create an ECS instance
on the ECS buy page. You can install the EDAS agent on the ECS instance by using the
Note You can also install the EDAS agent by using the EDAS image when you create the ECS instance.
