This topic describes how to enable auto-renewal for subscription ApsaraDB for HBase instances. Auto-renewal saves you the tedious work of manually renewing your subscription ApsaraDB for HBase instances on a regular basis and helps ensure service continuity. You can also disable auto-renewal for a specific instance if needed.

Prerequisites

Your ApsaraDB for HBase instance is a subscription instance.

Precautions

  • After you enable auto-renewal for your instance, the system first attempts to deduct fees from your Alibaba Cloud account at 08:00:00 on the ninth day before your instance expires. If the deduction fails, the system initiates the fee deduction once every day until the deduction succeeds or until the day before the instance expires. Make sure that the balance of your Alibaba Cloud account is sufficient to pay the subscription fees.
  • Make sure that you have sufficient balances, credits, or available vouchers in your Alibaba Cloud account.
  • If your instance expires the next day, you can only manually renew the instance. Auto-renewal is not supported.
  • If you have manually renewed your instance before renewal fees are automatically deducted, the system automatically renews the instance based on the new expiration date.
  • You can use coupons for auto-renewal.
  • Pay-as-you-go instances never expire and do not require renewal.

Enable auto-renewal when you create an instance

Note If you select auto-renewal when you purchase an instance, the system automatically renews the instance. The renewal cycle for a monthly subscription instance is one month. The renewal cycle for a yearly subscription instance is one year. For example, if you select auto-renewal when you purchase an instance with a three-month subscription, the system automatically renews the instance for an additional month before the instance expires.

If you specify Duration and select Auto-renewal when you create a subscription ApsaraDB for HBase instance, the system automatically renews the instance before it expires.

Enable auto-renewal for a running instance

Note When you enable auto-renewal for an instance on the Renewal page of the Billing Management console, you can specify a renewal cycle. The system automatically renews the instance based on the specified renewal cycle. For example, if you specify three months as the renewal cycle for an instance, the system automatically renews the instance for three additional months before the instance expires.
