This topic describes how to set the zones of an Application Load Balancer (ALB) instance to active or inactive. After a zone is set to active, the ALB instance starts to distribute requests to the specified backend servers in this zone. After a zone is set to inactive, the ALB instance stops distributing requests to the specified backend servers in the zone.
- Log on to the SLB console.
- In the left-side navigation pane, choose .
- On the Instances page, find the ALB instance that you want to manage, click the icon in the column, and then click Modify Zone/Subnet.
- In the Modify Zone/Subnet dialog box, select the check boxes of the zones and click OK.Note After you modify a zone or subnet, elastic IP addresses (EIPs) that are associated with your service may be changed and therefore you may be charged an additional fee. For more information about how EIPs are billed, see EIP billing.
