Application Real-Time Monitoring Service:View applications

Last Updated:Mar 15, 2024

On the Applications page of the Managed Service for OpenTelemetry console, you can view the key metrics of all monitored applications, including the number of requests and errors in the current day and the health status. You can also add custom tags to applications and filter applications by tag.

Background information

The Applications page displays various key metrics of all monitored applications. The score for the health status of an application is measured by Application Performance Index (Apdex). Apdex is an internationally agreed standard that is used to measure the application performance. Apdex defines the following three levels of user satisfaction with application performance:

  • Satisfied (0 to T)

  • Tolerating (T to 4T)

  • Frustrated (greater than 4T)

The following formula is used to calculate the Apdex score:

Apdex score = (Number of satisfied requests + Number of tolerating requests/2)/Total number of requests

Managed Service for OpenTelemetry uses the average response time of an application for calculation, and defines T as 500 milliseconds.

Go to the Applications page

  1. Log on to the ARMS console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Application Monitoring > Application List. On the Application List page, select a region in the top navigation bar.

If the Java图标 icon is displayed in the Language column, the application is connected to Application Monitoring. If a hyphen (-) is displayed, the application is connected to Managed Service for OpenTelemetry.
