This topic describes the billable items of Cloud Hardware Security Module and provides information about overdue payments. This topic also describes how to renew hardware security modules (HSMs) in Cloud Hardware Security Module.
Billing methods
Cloud Hardware Security Module uses the subscription billing method. The following billing formula is used: Total fee = Monthly price × Number of purchased HSMs × Subscription duration in months.
Monthly price: For more information, visit the Cloud Hardware Security Module buy page.
Number of purchased HSMs: The number of HSMs that you can purchase is not limited. We recommend that you purchase at least two HSMs to achieve high availability of Cloud Hardware Security Module.
Subscription duration in months: You can select a duration based on your business requirements.
Expiration description
Alibaba Cloud sends renewal notifications by email seven days, three days, or one day before the expiration date. After your HSMs expire, your HSMs enter a grace period of 7 days. During the grace period, the configurations of your HSMs are retained. If you renew your HSMs within the grace period, you can continue to use your HSMs. If you do not renew your HSMs within the grace period, the configurations are released.
If you want to use Cloud Hardware Security Module again, you must purchase HSMs again.
Overdue payments
Cloud Hardware Security Module uses the subscription billing method. Therefore, no overdue payments occur for Cloud Hardware Security Module. Before you can purchase or renew an HSM, make sure that your account balance is sufficient.
Renewal description
To renew your HSMs in User Center, see Renewal guide. To renew your HSMs in the Cloud Hardware Security Module console, perform the following steps:
Log on to the Cloud Hardware Security Module console. In the top navigation bar, select the required region.
On the Instances page, find the HSM that you want to renew, click the
icon in the Actions column, and then click Renew. On the Renew page, configure the Duration parameter, and read and select Terms of Service.
Click Buy Now to complete the payment.
Refunds
Cloud Hardware Security Module supports partial refunds. Before you unsubscribe from an HSM, we recommend that you understand the unsubscription rules, precautions, and unsubscription cases. For more information, see Rules for unsubscribing from resources.
