This topic describes how to use monitoring charts to view information about bandwidth, physical connections, and traffic of network instances that are associated with a transit router.

Background information

Cloud Enterprise Network (CEN) is integrated with Cloud Monitor to provide monitoring services. You can view monitoring data about a CEN instance on the Charts tab of the CEN details page. Monitoring information about the following items is displayed: bandwidth plans, cross-region bandwidth, physical connections configured for a virtual router border (VBR), and network instances associated with a transit router.
Note You can view traffic of network instances that are associated with only Enterprise Edition transit routers. For more information about the regions that support Enterprise Edition transit routers, see Regions and zones that support Enterprise Edition transit routers.

View monitoring information about a bandwidth plan

  1. Log on to the CEN console.
  2. On the Instances page, click the ID of the CEN instance that you want to manage.
  3. On the CEN details page, click the Charts tab.
  4. On the Charts tab, you can view the monitoring information about the bandwidth plans that are associated with the CEN instance. Monitoring information includes the outbound bandwidth from an area and the percentage of the outbound bandwidth.
  5. On the Bandwidth Plan Usage Monitoring tab, select the bandwidth plan that you want to view.
By default, the system displays the bandwidth usage within the last hour. You can also view bandwidth usage within the last 3, 6, or 12 hours. In addition, you can specify a custom time period.
    • Outbound Bandwidth by Area: the usage of the bandwidth plan. Unit: bit/s. This is the default unit.

You can also select Kbit/s, Mbit/s, or Gbit/s from the drop-down list next to the monitored item.

    • Percentage of Outbound Bandwidth by Area: the percentage of the used bandwidth. Unit: %.

View monitoring information about cross-region bandwidth

  1. Log on to the CEN console.
  2. On the Instances page, click the ID of the CEN instance that you want to manage.
  3. On the CEN details page, click the Charts tab.
  4. On the Charts tab, you can view the information about the cross-region bandwidth of the CEN instance. Monitoring information includes outbound bandwidth from a region, the percentage of the outbound bandwidth, and latency.
  5. Click the Cross-region Bandwidth Monitoring tab and select the cross-region bandwidth that you want to view.
By default, the system displays the bandwidth usage within the last hour. You can also view bandwidth usage within the last 3, 6, or 12 hours. In addition, you can specify a custom time period.
    • Outbound Bandwidth by Region: the usage of the cross-region bandwidth. Unit: bit/s. This is the default unit.

You can also select Kbit/s, Mbit/s, or Gbit/s from the drop-down list next to the monitored item.

    • Percentage of Outbound Bandwidth by Region: the percentage of the used bandwidth. Unit: %.
    • Latency: the network latency between the connected regions. Unit: milliseconds.
Note You can view information about cross-region bandwidth on the Charts tab and on the details page of a transit router that is deployed in the connected regions. For more information, see View monitoring data about the bandwidth of a cross-region connection.

View monitoring information about a physical connection

  1. Log on to the CEN console.
  2. On the Instances page, click the ID of the CEN instance that you want to manage.
  3. On the CEN details page, click the Charts tab.
  4. On the Charts tab, you can view monitoring information about a physical connection associated with the CEN instance. Monitoring information includes outbound bandwidth and inbound bandwidth.
  5. Click the VBR Health Check tab and select the VBR to which the physical connection belongs.
By default, the system displays the bandwidth usage within the last hour. You can also view bandwidth usage within the last 3, 6, or 12 hours. In addition, you can specify a custom time period.
    • Outbound Bandwidth: the bandwidth that is used to transmit data from Alibaba Cloud to the data center. Unit: bit/s. This is the default unit.

You can also select Kbit/s, Mbit/s, or Gbit/s from the drop-down list next to the monitored item.

    • Inbound Bandwidth: the bandwidth that is used to transmit data from the data center to Alibaba Cloud. Unit: bit/s. This is the default unit.

You can also select Kbit/s, Mbit/s, or Gbit/s from the drop-down list next to the monitored item.

    • Latency: the network latency between Alibaba Cloud and the data center. Unit: milliseconds.
    • Packet Loss Rate: the packet loss rate of communication between Alibaba Cloud and the data center. Unit: %.
    Note
    • On the Charts tab, you can view the Outbound Bandwidth and Inbound Bandwidth of the physical connection that is associated with the CEN instance. If you want to view the Latency and Packet Loss Rate of the physical connection, configure health checks for the physical connection. For more information, see Configure health checks.
    • After you configure health checks for the physical connection, you can also view monitoring information about the physical connection on the Health Check tab. For more information, see View monitoring information about a physical connection.

View monitoring information about instances associated with the CEN transit router

  1. Log on to the CEN console.
  2. On the Instances page, click the ID of the CEN instance that you want to manage.
  3. On the CEN details page, click the Charts tab.
  4. On the Charts tab, you can view monitoring information about traffic of network instances associated with the CEN transit router. Monitoring information includes outbound traffic rate, inbound traffic rate, and traffic dropped by blackhole routes.
  5. Click the Connected Instance Monitoring tab, and select the network instance that is associated with the transit router and the region where the network instance is deployed.
By default, the system displays the traffic information within the last hour. You can also view traffic information within the last 3, 6, or 12 hours. In addition, you can specify a custom time period.
    • Outbound Rate of TR Connection: the rate of traffic that is transmitted from the transit router to the network instance. Unit: bit/s. This is the default unit.
