If you need to collaboratively edit a dimension table with multiple users, you can share the dimension table and grant the users permissions to edit the dimension table. This topic describes how to share a dimension table and grant edit or read permissions to specified users.

Prerequisites

The tenant administrator, tenant security administrator, and RAM users that are assigned the Workspace Manager role can go to the Security Center > Security policy > Data query and analysis control page in Security Center to enable the feature of sharing dimension tables.

In the top navigation bar, click the Security policy tab. In the left-side navigation pane, click Data query and analysis control. On the Data query and analysis control page, click Query result control. Then, find the desired policy and click Edit in the Operation column.

  3. In the All Dimension Tables section of the page that appears, click the name of a desired table in the File Name column to go to the dimension table editing page.
  4. In the upper-right corner of the dimension table editing page, click Share. In the dialog box that appears, specify the sharing method based on your business requirements.
    Share
You must configure the following information before you can share a dimension table with other users:
    • Link: After you specify Users with Edit Access and Users with Read Access or turn on Visible to All, click Copy Link and send the copied URL to other users based on your business requirements.
    • Users with Edit Access: To specify users with permissions to edit the dimension table, click Add in the Users with Edit Access section. In the Share File with These Users dialog box, enter and select the names of the users to be granted the edit permissions, and click OK.
Note You can grant the edit permissions to a maximum of 10 users.
    • Users with Read Access: To specify users with permissions to view the dimension table, click Add in the Users with Read Access section. In the Share File with These Users dialog box, enter and select the names of the users to be granted the read permissions, and click OK.
Note You can grant the read permissions to a maximum of 30 users.

After the sharing method is set, you can send the URL to other users. The users can access the dimension table through the URL. On the Dimension page, you can also view the dimension tables that are shared with you.
