This topic describes how to create and manage rules of threshold value alerts in the PolarDB console. The alert feature helps you detect exceptions of PolarDB clusters and nodes and handle the exceptions in time.

Create an alert rule

  1. Log on PolarDB console.
  2. On the top of the page, select the region where the target cluster is located.
  3. Find the target cluster and click the cluster ID to go to the Overview page.
  4. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Diagnostics and Optimization > Monitoring.
  5. Click Create Alert Rule.
    Create an alert rule
  6. On the Create Alert Rule page, specify the following parameters.
    Procedure Parameter Description
Related Resource Product The service to be monitored. Use the default value POLARDB MYSQL CLUSTER.
Resource Range The application scope of the alert rule. Set this parameter to All Resources or Cluster.
    Note
    • When the Resource Range parameter is set to All Resources, the system sends alert notifications if one of all the clusters meets trigger conditions. The Rule Description parameter specifies the trigger conditions.
    • When the Resource Range parameter is set to Cluster, the system sends alert notifications if the specified cluster meets trigger conditions. The Rule Description parameter specifies the trigger conditions.
Region The region where the cluster to be monitored resides.
Note This parameter is available only after you set the Resource Range parameter to Cluster.
Cluster The cluster to be monitored.
Note This parameter is available only after you set the Resource Range parameter to Cluster.
Set Alert Rules Alert Rule The name of the alert rule.
Rule Description The content of the alert rule. This parameter defines the conditions that trigger alerts.
Note For more information about examples of alert rules, see Create a threshold-triggered alert rule.
nodeId The nodes to be monitored. Select some or all the nodes in the specified cluster from the drop-down list.
Note This parameter is available only after you set the Resource Range parameter to Cluster.
Mute for The interval for sending the same alert if the problem persists after an alert is sent. The minimum interval is 5 minutes and the maximum interval is 24 hours.
Effective Period The time period during which the alert rule is effective.
Note Cloud Monitor only sends alert notifications within the effective period, and records alerts if the alerts are generated before or after the effective period.
Notification Method For more information about the parameters related to Notification Method, see Create a threshold-triggered alert rule.
  7. Click OK.
