This topic describes how to use tests to compare the read and write performance between the open source self-managed Apache Solr search engine and LindormSearch of ApsaraDB for Lindorm (Lindorm) in basic scenarios. The tool used in the tests is a benchmark tool that is developed by Alibaba Cloud. To learn more about the tool, you can join the Lindorm DingTalk group or submit a ticket for technical support.

Environment configuration

  • Use a virtual private cloud (VPC) in the test environment. The client and the server must be in the same zone.
  • Perform all the tests in Zone G of the China (Shanghai) region.
  • The version of open source self-managed Apache Solr is Community Edition 7.7.3. This engine uses the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) to store data.
  • The version of LindormSearch is V7.7.7. LindormSearch uses LindormDFS to store data.
