:How to bind multiple Elastic IP Address to an ECS instance

Last Updated:Jun 24, 2021

Overview

By default, an ECS instance supports binding a Elastic IP Address (EIP). This article describes how to bind multiple EIPs to an ECS instance.

Background information

The method for binding multiple EIPs to an ECS instance is as follows:

  • Method 1
: The ECS instance is bound to multiple secondary Elastic Network Interface (ENIs), and each ENI is bound to an EIP. For how to bind ENI, see Bind secondary Elastic Network Interface.
Note: The number of secondary Elastic Network Interface can be bound to different ECS instance types. For more information, see instance family.

  • Method 2
: The ECS instance is bound with an ENI that is associated with multiple EIPs that are bound in normal mode. For more information, see Multi-EIP.
  • Method 3
: The ECS instance is bound with an ENI that is associated with multiple EIPs that are bound in the Multi-EIP network interface controller Visible Mode mode. For more information, see Set multi-EIP network interface controller mode (stop accepting applications).
    Note:
    • The multi-EIP network interface controller visible mode has stopped applying for new users, and new users cannot use the multi-EIP network interface controller visible mode for the time being.
    • For more information about the difference between Normal Mode and Multi-EIP Nnetwork interface controller Visible Mode, see the Bind Mode section of Bind Secondary Elastic Network Interface network interface controller.
