You can use tags to differentiate or categorize elastic gateways. This topic describes how to attach tags to and detach tags from an elastic gateway.

Prerequisites

An elastic gateway is created. For more information, see Manage an elastic gateway.

Background information

  • Each tag consists of a key-value pair. The keys of tags that are attached to the same elastic gateway must be unique within a region. If two tags attached to the same elastic gateway have the same key but different values, the tag attached later overwrites the previously attached tag.
  • You can attach up to 10 tags to each elastic gateway.
  • You can attach up to five tags or detach up to five tags from an elastic gateway at a time.
  • Tag information is not shared across regions.

Attach tags to an elastic gateway

  1. Log on to the Cloud Storage Gateway (CSG) console.
  2. In the upper-left corner, select the region where the elastic gateway resides.
  3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Gateways. On the Current Gateway Cluster page, find the elastic gateway and choose More > Change Tags in the Actions column.
  4. In the Change Tags dialog box, create a tag or attach an existing tag to the elastic gateway.
    • Attach a new tag: Click Create Tag, specify the Key and Value parameters, and then click OK. After the tag is created, click OK to attach it to the elastic gateway.
    • Attach an existing tag: Click Existing Tags and select the tags. After you select the tags, click OK to attach them to the elastic gateway.
The tags attached to an elastic gateway are displayed in the Tags column on the Current Gateway Cluster page.

Detach tags from an elastic gateway

  1. Log on to the CSG console.
  2. In the upper-left corner, select the region where the elastic gateway resides.
  3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Gateways. On the Current Gateway Cluster page, find the elastic gateway and choose More > Change Tags in the Actions column.
  4. In the Change Tags dialog box, click the x icon next to the tag that you want to detach, and then click OK.
If a tag is attached to only one elastic gateway, the tag is deleted after it is detached from the gateway.
