You can use the HBase API for Java to connect to an ApsaraDB for Lindorm (Lindorm) cluster. However, Lindorm has the following limits:

  • The API operations for managing ApsaraDB for HBase clusters such as Assign Region and Stop RegionServer are not supported. If you want to manage clusters, log on to the ApsaraDB for HBase console and use ClusterMananger that is provided by Alibaba Cloud.
  • Lindorm does not support HBase coprocessors. This feature will be available in the future. If you want to obtain more information, join a DingTalk group. For more information, see Expert support.
  • Limited Hadoop Distributed File System (HFDS) permissions are provided. For information about how to use Spark to analyze data, see Use Spark to connect to a Lindorm cluster. You can also call the HBase API operations in Spark or call the TableInputFormat operation in MapReduce. If you want to perform bulk load operations, call the HDFS API operations.
  • Lindorm does not support custom filters. If you want to define a custom filter, encapsulate the code of the filter class into a JAR file and upload the file to the lib directory of the server node or HDFS. Then, restart the server node or dynamically load the JAR file to validate the custom filter. However, Lindorm does not support this operation.

If you have questions about the limits, submit a ticket or join a DingTalk group. For more information, see Expert support.
