Anycast EIP supports the pay-by-data-transfer metering method.
Internet traffic fees and data transfer fees for an Anycast EIP are charged by Cloud Data Transfer (CDT). Instance fees are charged by Anycast EIP.
Billable items
Anycast EIP uses the pay-by-data-transfer metering method, which is a type of pay-as-you-go billing.
The billing cycle for pay-by-data-transfer Anycast EIPs is one hour. You can release an instance at any time. When you release an instance, the bill for the current hour is generated and settled in the next hour. The system determines the actual time when the bill is generated.
The billable items for a pay-by-data-transfer Anycast EIP include instance fees, Internet traffic fees, and data transfer fees.
Fees for a pay-by-data-transfer Anycast EIP = Instance fee + Internet traffic fee + Data transfer fee
Instance fee
An instance fee is charged for the public IP address of an Anycast EIP.
Instance fee = Unit price × Billing durationUnit price: The unit price of an Anycast EIP instance is 0.012 USD/hour.
Billing duration: Billing is calculated in hours. Billing starts when an Anycast EIP is created and ends when it is released. If the billing duration in a billing cycle is less than one hour, it is rounded up to one hour.
Internet traffic fee
An Internet traffic fee is charged for the bandwidth that is used when traffic accesses an Alibaba Cloud access point over the Internet.
Internet traffic fee = Unit price of Internet traffic × Traffic usage Unit price of Internet traffic: The unit price is measured in USD/GB. The unit price varies based on the region of the access point. For more information, see Pricing.
Traffic usage: Traffic usage is measured in GB. In each billing cycle, Internet traffic fees are charged based on the primary traffic, which is the larger of the inbound or outbound traffic of an Anycast EIP instance. The total traffic usage is the cumulative value of the primary traffic within the billing duration.
Data transfer fee

Starting from 00:00:00 (UTC+8) on June 1, 2025, the free quota for CDT Internet traffic will be increased from 200 GB/month to 220 GB/month. Of this quota, 20 GB/month can be used in the Chinese mainland regions and 200 GB/month can be used in regions outside the Chinese mainland.
The first 220 GB of Internet traffic per month is free. Of this quota, 20 GB can be used in the Chinese mainland regions and 200 GB can be used in regions outside the Chinese mainland. After the free quota is used up, Internet traffic is billed on a tiered basis.
For more information about the regions included in the Anycast EIP access point areas, see Access point locations.

Billing example
The following billing example is for reference only. Your actual fees are subject to your bill.
Assume that you purchase an Anycast EIP instance at 09:20:00 to improve the access experience for users in US (Silicon Valley) to a source server in Singapore. By 10:00:00 on the same day, the instance generates 10 GB of inbound traffic and 6 GB of outbound traffic. Therefore, the primary traffic is 10 GB and the billing duration is one hour.
The fees are calculated as follows:
Instance fee = 0.012 USD/hour × 1 hour = 0.012 USD
Internet traffic fee = 0 USD
The traffic does not exceed the free quota for Internet traffic.
Data transfer fee = 0.08 USD/GB × 10 GB = 0.8 USD
Total fee = 0.012 USD + 0 USD + 0.8 USD = 0.812 USD
