Before you purchase Realtime Compute for Apache Flink, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the features offered by each service type. This way, you can select instances that fit your business requirements. This topic describes the service types of Realtime Compute for Apache Flink and the release status of each service type. This topic also provides suggestions on how to select a service type based on your business requirements.

Fully managed Flink

If your company or team wants to focus on business development without the need to spend extra time on cluster O&M, we recommend that you use this service type.

Semi-managed Flink (EMR-based)

If your company or team wants to gain full control over all cluster resources during business development and is familiar with YARN or Alibaba Cloud EMR, we recommend that you use this service type.

Blink exclusive cluster (original product line)

Blink exclusive clusters (original product line) cannot be purchased from April 28, 2021 and entered the EOM1 phase. For more information, see Announcements.

Important

You can no longer purchase Blink exclusive clusters. However, you can still scale your Blink exclusive clusters. If you want to purchase Realtime Compute for Apache Flink, we recommend that you purchase the fully managed Flink service type.
