The visual modeling platform plug-in uses instances as basic units to manage datasets, submit training tasks, and deploy models. Before you perform training, an instance must be created. The visual modeling platform plug-in allows you to create instances from templates or manually create instances. This topic describes how to use the two methods to create instances.

Create an instance from a template

  1. Go to the Computer Vision Model Training page.
    1. Log on to the Machine Learning Platform for AI (PAI) console.
    2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose AI Industry Plug-In > Visual Modeling Platform Plug-in.
  2. On the Computer Vision Model Training page, select one of the following types of instances based on your requirements.
    • In the Image Classification section, click Create an instance.
    • In the Object Detection section, click Create an instance.
    • In the OCR section, click Create an instance.
  3. In the Create an instance panel, set the parameters.
    Parameter Description
Instance type The type of instance that you want to create. Machine Learning Platform for AI (PAI) automatically enters the value. No manual configuration is required.
Instance name The name of the instance. The name must be 1 to 30 characters in length and can contain underscores (_) and hyphens (-). It must start with a letter or digit.
