Database Autonomy Service:Enable and manage DAS Cost-efficient Edition and DAS Enterprise Edition

Database Autonomy Service (DAS) Cost-efficient Edition and DAS Enterprise Edition provide powerful database O&M features. This helps you quickly identify and resolve database issues, improves performance and efficiency, and significantly reduces operational costs. This topic describes how to enable and manage DAS Cost-efficient Edition and DAS Enterprise Edition.

Prerequisites

The AliyunHDMFullAccess permission is granted to a Resource Access Management (RAM) user if you want to purchase DAS Cost-efficient Edition and DAS Enterprise Edition as the RAM user. You must contact the owner of the Alibaba Cloud account to grant you the AliyunHDMFullAccess permission. For more information, see Grant permissions to a RAM user.

Supported databases and regions

Enable DAS Cost-efficient Edition and DAS Enterprise Edition

Enable DAS Cost-efficient Edition

Step 1: Purchase a resource plan of DAS Cost-efficient Edition

  1. Log on to the DAS console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Version Management.

  3. On the Edition Management page, click the Cost-efficient Edition Instance tab.

  4. On the Cost-efficient Edition Instance tab, click Purchase DAS Cost-efficient Edition.

  5. On the buy page that appears, purchase a resource plan of DAS Cost-efficient Edition based on your business requirements.

    Important

    For more information about the billing of DAS Cost-efficient Edition, see Billing.

  6. Read and select the terms of service and complete the payment.

Step 2: Enable DAS Cost-efficient Edition for a database instance

  1. Log on to the DAS console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Version Management.

  3. On the Edition Management page, click the Cost-efficient Edition Instance tab.

  4. Find the resource plan that you purchase and click Associate Instance in the Actions column. In the dialog box that appears, select the database instances for which you want to enable DAS Cost-efficient Edition and click the p2022022201 icon.

  5. Then, click OK.

Enable DAS Enterprise Edition

Step 1: Purchase DAS Enterprise Edition

Important

If you enable DAS Enterprise Edition V1, you must configure the Available Instances parameter on the buy page to specify the number of database instances for which you can enable DAS Enterprise Edition V1. If you enable DAS Enterprise Edition V2 or V3, you do not need to purchase available instances, and you can directly enable DAS Enterprise Edition V2 or V3 for your database instance. You cannot purchase DAS Enterprise Edition V0 in the DAS console.

  1. Go to the DAS Enterprise Edition buy page and configure the parameters that are described in the following table.

    Parameter

    Description

    Edition

    The version of DAS Enterprise Edition. The value is set to Enterprise Edition V1.

    Available Instances

    The number of database instances for which DAS Enterprise Edition V1 can be enabled.

    For example, a value of 5 indicates that you can enable DAS Enterprise Edition V1 for up to five database instances.

    Note

    Configure this parameter based on your business requirements. After you purchase DAS Enterprise Edition V1, you can modify the Available Instances parameter. For more information, see the Manage DAS Cost-efficient Edition and DAS Enterprise Edition section of this topic.

    Subscription Duration

    The subscription duration of DAS Enterprise Edition V1.

    Note

    The default subscription duration is one month.

  2. Click Buy Now.

  3. On the Confirm Order page, confirm the parameter configurations, and read and select the terms of service for DAS Enterprise Edition.

    Important

    For more information about the billing of DAS Enterprise Edition, see Billing.

  4. Complete the payment.

Step 2: Enable DAS Enterprise Edition for a database instance

Important
  • Do not enable multiple versions of DAS Enterprise Edition for a database instance on the Edition Management page. Otherwise, you are charged for the earliest specified version of DAS Enterprise Edition. If you have enabled multiple versions of DAS Enterprise Edition for a database instance, you can disable the versions that you no longer need on the Edition Management page. Then, you are charged for the version that is in use. For more information, see Disable DAS Cost-efficient Edition and DAS Enterprise Edition.

  • If a database instance supports DAS Enterprise Edition V3, you can enable only DAS Enterprise Edition V3 for the database instance on the Basic Edition Instance tab. For more information about the database engines and regions that support DAS Enterprise Edition V3, see the "Supported databases and regions" section of the Editions and supported features topic.

  • Enable DAS Enterprise Edition V1

    1. Log on to the DAS console.

    2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Version Management.

    3. On the Edition Management page, click the Enterprise Edition Instance tab, and then click the Unified Billing tab.

    4. Click Add Instance in the Actions column.

    5. In the Add Instance to DAS Enterprise Edition dialog box, select the database instances for which you want to enable DAS Enterprise Edition V1 and click the p2022022201 icon.

    6. Configure the Data Storage Duration parameter.

    7. Then, click OK.

      Note

      It takes 10 to 20 minutes to enable DAS Enterprise Edition V1 for the selected database instances.

  • Enable DAS Enterprise Edition V2

    1. Log on to the DAS console.

    2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Version Management.

    3. On the Edition Management page, click the Basic Edition Instance tab.

      Note

      If a database instance supports DAS Enterprise Edition V3, you can enable only DAS Enterprise Edition V3 for the database instance on the Basic Edition Instance tab. For more information about the database engines and regions that support DAS Enterprise Edition V3, see the "Supported databases and regions" section of the Editions and supported features topic.

    4. Find the database instance that you want to manage and click Enable Enterprise Edition in the Actions column.

    5. In the panel that appears, configure the data storage duration.

    6. Click OK.

  • Enable DAS Enterprise Edition V3

    1. Log on to the DAS console.

    2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Version Management.

    3. On the Edition Management page, click the Basic Edition Instance tab.

    4. Find the database instance that you want to manage and click Enable Enterprise Edition in the Actions column.

    5. In the panel that appears, enable the features of DAS Enterprise Edition V3 and configure the data storage duration.

    6. Click Submit.

Manage DAS Cost-efficient Edition and DAS Enterprise Edition

Manage DAS Cost-efficient Edition

You can Add Instance, Upgrade, Downgrade, or Renew DAS Cost-efficient Edition, or Unsubscribe from DAS Cost-efficient Edition.

  1. Log on to the DAS console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Version Management.

  3. On the Edition Management page, click the Cost-efficient Edition Instance tab.

  4. Manage DAS Cost-efficient Edition based on your business requirements.

    • Add Instance:

      1. Click Add Instance in the Actions column.

      2. In the dialog box that appears, select the database instances for which you want to enable DAS Cost-efficient Edition and click the p2022022201 icon.Instance ID/instance alias

      3. Then, click OK.

        Note

        It takes 3 minutes to enable DAS Cost-efficient Edition for the selected database instances.

    • Renew: Click Renew in the Actions column to extend the subscription duration of DAS Cost-efficient Edition.

    • Unsubscribe: Click Unsubscribe in the Actions column to unsubscribe from DAS Cost-efficient Edition for your Alibaba Cloud account.

      Important

      When you unsubscribe from DAS Cost-efficient Edition, DAS automatically disables DAS Cost-efficient Edition for all database instances within your Alibaba Cloud account and deletes the historical data. Proceed with caution. We recommend that you manually disable DAS Cost-efficient Edition for all database instances before you unsubscribe from DAS Cost-efficient Edition. This prevents data loss.     • Manage DAS Cost-efficient Edition for a specific database instance:

      Find the database instance that you want to manage and click Disable Cost-efficient Edition in the Actions column.

Manage DAS Enterprise Edition V3

You can modify the data storage duration for database instances for which DAS Enterprise Edition V3 is enabled. You can also enable or disable the features of DAS Enterprise Edition V3 for the database instances.

  1. Log on to the DAS console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Version Management.

  3. On the Edition Management page, click the Enterprise Edition Instance tab, and then click the Tiered Billing tab.

  4. Find the database instance that you want to manage and click Settings in the Actions column. In the panel that appears, configure the data storage duration and enable or disable the features of DAS Enterprise Edition V3.

Manage DAS Enterprise Edition V2

You can modify the data storage duration for database instances for which DAS Enterprise Edition V2 is enabled, or disable the SQL Explorer and Audit feature for these database instances.

  1. Log on to the DAS console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Version Management.

  3. On the Edition Management page, click the Enterprise Edition Instance tab, and then click the Unified Billing tab.

  4. Find the database instance that you want to manage and click Settings in the Actions column. In the panel that appears, configure the data storage duration or disable the SQL Explorer and Audit feature based on your business requirements.

Manage DAS Enterprise Edition V1

You can Add Instance, Upgrade, Downgrade, or Renew DAS Enterprise Edition V1, or Unsubscribe from DAS Enterprise Edition V1. You can also modify the Data Storage Duration for database instances for which DAS Enterprise Edition V1 is enabled, or disable DAS Enterprise Edition V1 for database instances.

Important

If you want to enable DAS Enterprise Edition for your database instance, do not enable multiple versions of DAS Enterprise Edition for the database instance on the Edition Management page. Otherwise, you are charged for the earliest version of DAS Enterprise Edition. If you have enabled multiple versions of DAS Enterprise Edition for your database instance, you can disable the versions that you no longer need on the Edition Management page. Then, you are charged for the version that is in use. For more information, see Disable DAS Cost-efficient Edition and DAS Enterprise Edition.

  1. Log on to the DAS console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Version Management.

  3. On the Edition Management page, click the Enterprise Edition Instance tab, and then click the Unified Billing tab.

  4. Manage DAS Enterprise Edition V1 based on your business requirements.

    • Add Instance:

      1. Click Add Instance in the Actions column.

      2. In the dialog box that appears, select the database instances for which you want to enable DAS Enterprise Edition V1 and click the p2022022201 icon Instance ID/instance alias

      3. Configure the Data Storage Duration parameter.

      4. Then, click OK.

        Note

        It takes 10 to 20 minutes to enable DAS Enterprise Edition V1 for the selected database instances.

    • Upgrade: Click Upgrade in the Actions column to increase the number of database instances for which DAS Enterprise Edition V1 can be enabled.

    • Downgrade: Click Downgrade in the Actions column to reduce the number of database instances for which DAS Enterprise Edition V1 can be enabled.

      Note

      The number of available database instances after a downgrade cannot be less than the number of database instances for which DAS Enterprise Edition V1 is enabled.

    • Renew: Click Renew in the Actions column to extend the subscription duration of DAS Enterprise Edition V1.

    • Unsubscribe: Click Unsubscribe in the Actions column to unsubscribe from DAS Enterprise Edition V1 for your Alibaba Cloud account. Before you unsubscribe from DAS Enterprise Edition V1, you must disable DAS Enterprise Edition V1 for all database instances within your Alibaba Cloud account. For more information, see Disable DAS Cost-efficient Edition and DAS Enterprise Edition.

    • Manage DAS Enterprise Edition V1 for a specific database instance:

      • In the Used Instances section, find the database instance that you want to manage and click Set Duration in the Actions column. In the dialog box that appears, turn off the SQL insight and audit switch and click OK to disable DAS Enterprise Edition V1.

        Note

        After you disable DAS Enterprise Edition V1 for a database instance, the SQL Explorer and Audit feature is disabled, and all data related to DAS Enterprise Edition V1 is deleted. For more information, see Disable DAS Cost-efficient Edition and DAS Enterprise Edition.

      • In the Used Instances section, find the database instance that you want to manage and click Settings in the Actions column. In the dialog box that appears, modify the Data Storage Duration parameter and click OK.

Manage DAS Enterprise Edition V0

You can modify the data storage duration for database instances for which DAS Enterprise Edition V0 is enabled, or disable the SQL Explorer and Audit feature for these database instances.

  1. Log on to the DAS console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Version Management.

  3. On the Edition Management page, click the Enterprise Edition Instance tab. Click the Unified Billing tab and then click the Audit tab.

  4. Find the database instance that you want to manage and click Settings in the Actions column. In the panel that appears, configure the data storage duration or disable the SQL Explorer and Audit feature based on your business requirements.
