Manage permissions on instances

Last Updated: May 29, 2020

In the Data Management Service (DMS) console, you can grant or revoke permissions on instances to or from users.

Prerequisites

You are a database administrator (DBA) or a DMS administrator.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the DMS console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, choose System Management > Instance.

  3. On the Instance List tab of the Instance page, find the target instance and choose More > Management authority in the Actions column.1
  4. In the Management authority dialog box that appears, follow these steps based on your business needs:

    • Grant permissions

      1. Click Authorized user.

      2. In the Authorized user dialog box that appears, select one or more users to whom you want to grant the permissions on the instance and specify the expiration date.

You do not need to select the permissions. The system automatically selects the permissions based on the control mode of the instance.

    • Revoke permissions

      1. In the Management authority dialog box, find the target user and click Recycle Permission in the Actions column.

      2. In the Permission Operation dialog box that appears, select the permissions to be revoked.

If the instance is in the Flexible Management or Stable Change mode, you can only revoke the Login permission. If the instance is in the Secure Collaboration mode, you can only revoke the Performance view permission.

      3. Click OK.
