Elasticsearch:Release a cluster

Last Updated:Mar 15, 2024

You can directly release pay-as-you-go clusters or expired subscription clusters. This topic describes how to release a pay-as-you-go cluster.

Precautions

  • After a cluster is released, the data stored on the cluster cannot be restored. We recommend that you back up data before you release a cluster. For more information, see Create manual snapshots and restore data from manual snapshots.

  • Release protection can be performed for a cluster up to three times. Proceed with caution.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Alibaba Cloud Elasticsearch console.
  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Elasticsearch Clusters.
  3. In the top navigation bar, select the resource group to which the desired cluster and the region where the cluster resides.

  4. On the Elasticsearch Clusters page, find the cluster and choose 更多 > Release in the Actions column.

    Important
    • Release is dimmed for a cluster in the Initializing state. This state indicates that an update is being performed for the cluster. Release the cluster after the update is complete.

    • You can directly release pay-as-you-go clusters or expired subscription clusters. If you want to release a subscription cluster that has not expired, you must submit a ticket to request a refund and release the cluster.

  5. In the dialog box that appears, select Immediately Delete or leave it unselected, and click OK.

    • Leave Immediately Delete unselected.

In this case, the cluster is released 24 hours later. During this period, you can still find the cluster on the Elasticsearch Clusters page.

You can perform the following operations on the cluster:

      • Choose 更多 > Recover in the Actions column to recover the cluster. After you confirm this operation, the cluster is recovered, and the system continues to charge you for the cluster.

      • Choose 更多 > Delete in the Actions column to immediately delete the cluster. After you confirm this operation, the data stored on the cluster is deleted and cannot be recovered. In addition, the system removes the cluster from the Elasticsearch Clusters page. After 24 hours, the related resource usage information is deleted.

    • Select Immediately Delete.

In this case, the data stored on the cluster is deleted and cannot be recovered. In addition, the system removes the cluster from the Elasticsearch Clusters page. After 24 hours, the related resource usage information is deleted.
