Delete an instance

You can manually delete an instance that is no longer in use from the Data Management Service (DMS) console.


You are a database administrator (DBA) or a DMS administrator.


  • After an instance is deleted, it is removed from the left-side navigation pane, and you can no longer use the databases of the instance in the DMS console.
  • The instance permissions that are granted to users becomes invalid and are deleted.


  1. Log on to the DMS console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, choose System Management > Instance.

    You can also find the target instance in the left-side navigation pane, right-click the instance, and then select Delete Instance to delete the instance.

  3. On the Instance List tab of the Instance page, delete one or more instances based on your business requirements.

    • Delete a single instance

      1. On the Instance List tab, find the target instance that you want to delete.
      2. Move the pointer over More in the Actions column and select Delete Instance.
      3. In the dialog box that appears, click OK.
    • Delete multiple instances at a time

      1. On the Instance List tab, select the target instances that you want to delete.
      2. Click Delete Instance in the upper part of the tab.
      3. In the dialog box that appears, click OK.


Q: Can I restore a deleted instance?

A: Yes. On the Instance List tab, you can search for deleted instances by setting the Status filter to Delete, select the target instance, and then click Enable instance in the upper part to restore the instance. Restore a deleted instance
