On the Database List tab of the Instance page in the Data Management Service (DMS) console, you can manage a database in the following ways: set and change the owners, revoke the owner permission, grant and revoke user permissions, and export the information about database configuration and authorization.
Log on to the DMS console.
In the top navigation bar, choose System Management > Instance. On the Instance page that appears, click the Database List tab.
Set filters to search for databases. Select the target database and then perform the corresponding operation on the database.
- Set owners
Click Set owner. In the dialog box that appears, select one or more users as the owners of the database.
- Change owners
Click Transfer Ownership. In the dialog box that appears, select one or more original owners and target owners respectively to change the owners of the database. Note that when you manage multiple databases at a time, you can only change the original owners that are shared by these databases.
- Revoke the owner permission
Click Release Owner. In the dialog box that appears, select one or more owners to revoke the owner permission from them.
- Grant permissions to users
Click Authorized user. In the dialog box that appears, select one or more users and permission types, as well as the validity period, to grant permissions to the specified users. Available permission types include query, export, and change.
- Revoke permissions from users
Click Recycle Permission. In the dialog box that appears, select one or more users and permission types respectively to revoke the permissions from the users. If any selected user is not granted the permission that you specify, the error message
No corresponding permissions. You do not need to recycle or release permissionsappears.
- Export the information about database configuration
Click Export config to download the information about the database configuration to your local device in an Excel file. In the downloaded file, you can view the information such as the status and environment of the instance, and the database administrator (DBA) and owner of the database.
- Export the authorization information
Click Export permissions to download the authorization information about the database to your local device in an Excel file. In the downloaded file, you can view the information such as the database name, the user who has certain permissions, the permissions that are granted to the user, and the authorizer.
- Other operations
Click Table Details in the Actions column to view the details of the tables in the database. You can also move the pointer over More in the Actions column and select the relevant menu item to initiate a single-database query, manage permissions, view instance details, or locate the instance in the list.
