An ApsaraDB dedicated cluster consists of multiple hosts such as ECS I2 and X-Dragon. You can run instances on these hosts.
ApsaraDB Dedicated Cluster allows you to manage instances in batches. You can create more than one dedicated cluster in a region. Each dedicated cluster consists of multiple hosts, and each host can be used to support multiple instances.
ApsaraDB Dedicated Cluster offers the following three cluster-level features:
- Resource scheduling: You can configure an overcommit ratio for a specific type of resource to maximize the resource usage. These resources are categorized from the following dimensions: CPU, memory, storage capacity, input/output operations per second (IOPS), and network traffic.
- Host management: You can create and replace hosts based on your business requirements.
- Instance management: You can manage primary, secondary, read-only, and log instances in batches for dedicated clusters.
Supported database engines
RDS for MySQL
You need to pay only for the hosts that you create and for the standard or enhanced SSDs that you use. You do not need to pay for dedicated clusters, instances, memory, or local SSDs.
ApsaraDB Dedicated Cluster allows you to schedule resources more flexibly, provision more advanced, enterprise-level databases, and obtain more permissions. For more information, see Benefits.
