Database Autonomy Service:Editions and supported features

Last Updated:Mar 11, 2024

This topic describes Database Autonomy Service (DAS) editions and the features, database engines, and regions that are supported by these editions. You can select a DAS edition based on your business requirements or query the features of a DAS edition.

Description of editions

  • DAS Basic Edition: You can use this edition free of charge. DAS Basic Edition supports centralized management of multiple database engines and provides the database diagnostics and performance optimization features. This edition helps you in daily database O&M and management.

  • DAS Cost-efficient Edition: You are charged for using this edition. DAS Cost-efficient Edition supports lightweight autonomy services, provides the automatic tablespace fragment recycling and performance insight features, and updates features such as session management and deadlock analysis based on the features of DAS Basic Edition.

  • DAS Enterprise Edition: You are charged for using this edition. The SQL Explorer and Audit feature is provided based on the features of DAS Cost-efficient Edition. DAS Enterprise Edition has the following versions that vary in the billing method:

    • DAS Enterprise Edition V0 (formerly known as DAS Professional Edition of the previous version that uses the C-Store engine): You are charged for data storage of SQL Explorer and Audit on a pay-as-you-go basis.

    • DAS Enterprise Edition V1 (formerly known as DAS Professional Edition of the previous version): You are charged for the subscription and the data storage of SQL Explorer and Audit.

    • DAS Enterprise Edition V2 (formerly known as DAS Professional Edition of the new version): DAS Enterprise Edition V2 is billed on a pay-as-you-go basis. Compared with DAS Enterprise Edition V1, DAS Enterprise Edition V2 changes the underlying storage architecture. The hybrid storage of hot and cold data improves service performance at lower costs.

    • DAS Enterprise Edition V3: DAS Enterprise Edition V3 is billed based on the pay-as-you-go billing method and supports hybrid storage of hot and cold data. The billable items are subdivided by features. This allows flexible billing and greatly reduces costs.

The billable items vary with versions. For more information, see Billing.

Data migration from DAS Enterprise Edition V1 or DAS Enterprise Edition V2 to DAS Enterprise Edition V3 is supported free of charge. Before the migration is complete, you are charged based on the source version. After the migration is complete, you are charged based on the destination version. For more information, see the How do I migrate data between different versions of DAS Enterprise Edition? section of the "FAQ" topic.

Note

DAS Professional Edition is renamed DAS Enterprise Edition, and DAS Enterprise Edition has different versions. For more information, see [Notice] Renaming of DAS Professional Edition to DAS Enterprise Edition and release of DAS Cost-efficient Edition and DAS Enterprise Edition V3.
