Cloud Storage Gateway:Manage tags

Last Updated:Nov 08, 2023

You can use tags to mark and then categorize Cloud Storage Gateway (CSG) instances. This topic describes how to attach tags to a CSG instance and remove tags from a CSG instance.

Prerequisites

You have created a block gateway. For more information, see Create an iSCSI gateway.

Background information

  • Each tag is a key-value pair. Tag keys must be unique within a region. If you create a tag with a key already used, its value overwrites the value of the tag using the same key.

  • You can attach up to 10 tags to each gateway.

  • You can attach or remove up to five tags for a gateway at a time.

  • Tag information is not shared across regions.

Attach a tag

  1. Log on to the Cloud Storage Gateway console.

  2. In the upper-left corner of the page, select the region where the target gateway is deployed.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Gateway Clusters. Find the target gateway and choose More > Edit Tags in the Actions column.

  4. In the Edit Tags dialog box that appears, create a new tag or select an existing tag and attach it to the gateway.

    • Attach a new tag: Click Create New Tag, enter the Key and Value, and then click OK. After the new tag is created, click OK to attach it to the gateway.

    • Attach an existing tag: Click Existing Tags, and select the target tags. After you select the tags, click OK to attach them to the gateway.

Tags attached to a gateway are displayed in the Tag column on the Gateway Clusters page.

Remove a tag

  1. Log on to the Cloud Storage Gateway console.

  2. In the upper-left corner, select the region where the target gateway is deployed.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Gateway Clusters. Find the target gateway and choose More > Edit Tags in the Actions column.

  4. In the Edit Tags dialog box that appears, click the x icon next to the tag that you want to remove, and then click OK.

If the tag is attached to one gateway only, the tag is deleted after it is removed from the gateway.
