To bring a better experience to ApsaraDB RDS for MySQL users, Alibaba Cloud no longer provides the previous change tracking feature after March 31, 2020.

Background information

The previous change tracking feature requires that one downstream SDK client consumes data and other SDK clients serve as backups. To achieve repeated consumption of incremental data from the same database instance, you must purchase multiple change tracking instances. This incurs high costs.

DTS provides the new change tracking feature to reduce your costs. You can create consumer groups for downstream consumers. Consumers in different consumer groups can track data changes from the same database instance and consume data at the same time. For more information, see Change tracking (new).
