This topic describes two billing methods of ApsaraDB for ClickHouse: Subscription and Pay-as-you-go.
For more information about specific prices, see Specifications and pricing.
ApsaraDB for ClickHouse provides the pay-as-you-go and subscription billing methods.
|Subscription||The subscription billing method is a prepayment plan. You must pay an upfront subscription fee when you purchase a cluster. This billing method is more cost-effective than the pay-as-you-go billing method. We recommend that you select this billing method for long-term requirements. You can receive more discounts for longer subscription periods. Subscription clusters are automatically released when subscription clusters expire. You do not need to manually release subscription clusters.
Notice You cannot change the billing method of a cluster from subscription to pay-as-you-go.
|Pay-as-you-go||The pay-as-you-go method is a post-payment plan. The system generates a bill every hour and deducts the amount from your account balance based on the cluster specifications. You can release pay-as-you-go clusters anytime, which saves costs. Therefore, pay-as-you-go is cost-effective for short-term requirements such as testing. After your resource usage becomes stable, you can change the billing method from pay-as-you-go to subscription.|
