Before Bastionhost users can perform O&M operations on hosts, the administrator must
add host assets to be managed to a Bastionhost instance and add accounts to the hosts.
This topic describes how to import ECS instances under the current Alibaba Cloud account
to a Bastionhost instance and add accounts to hosts.
Background information
You can also manually add hosts, import hosts from a file, or import dedicated host
groups of ApsaraDB for RDS. For the relevant information, see Import hosts from other sources.
Import ECS instances
Follow these steps to import ECS instances under your Alibaba Cloud account to Bastionhost.
This operation does not affect the current status of the ECS instances under your
Alibaba Cloud account.
- Log on to the Bastionhost system. For more information, see Log on to Bastionhost.
- In the left-side navigation pane, click .
- On the Hosts page, click Import ECS Instances.
- In the Select Region dialog box, select the region where the ECS instances to be imported reside and click
OK.
- In the Import ECS Instances dialog box, select the ECS instances to be imported and click Import.
Procedure
- Log on to the Bastionhost system. For more information, see Log on to Bastionhost.
- In the left-side navigation pane, click .
- On the Hosts page, find the target host and click the hostname.
- In the pane that appears, click the Host Account tab.
- Click Create Host Account.
To create an account for multiple hosts at a time, select the hosts on the Hosts page
and select
Create Account for Hosts from the
Batch drop-down list in the lower-left corner.

- In the Create Host Account pane, specify Protocol, Logon Name, and Password.
If you create an account for multiple hosts at a time, specify
Authentication Type,
Protocol,
Logon Name, and
Password in the
Create Account for Hosts dialog box.

- Optional: Click Verify.
The purpose is to check whether the logon name and password are valid.
- Click Create.
