This topic describes how to use the Grafana data visualization tools that are provided by Alibaba Cloud TSDB for InfluxDB®.
Grafana is an open source tool to visualize large amounts of time series data. It is widely used in scenarios such as Internet application analysis, industrial monitoring, meteorological monitoring, home automation, and process management.
Alibaba Cloud TSDB for InfluxDB® integrates the Grafana service. This allows you to use the Grafana service without the need to install and deploy Grafana. This also provides a quick method for you to create dashboards based on the time series data that is stored in TSDB for InfluxDB®.
After you purchase Alibaba Cloud TSDB for InfluxDB®, you must create a database and a user account of the database. For more information, see Manage user accounts and databases.
In the following example, the mydb database is created, and the user account for the database is myuser. The user account must be an administrator account or a non-administrator account that has the permission to read data from the myuser database.
Before you use the Grafana service, you must enable access to Grafana from the Internet.
Log on to the Alibaba Cloud TSDB for InfluxDB® console, choose Grafana Visualization > Service Access and Account. On the page that appears, click Activate Grafana Access Link.
After you enable access to Grafana from the Internet, you must configure a Grafana account to use the Grafana service.
On the Service Access and Account page, click Create Account to create a Grafana account.
Enter the Grafana username and the password, and click Create.
To access data in TSDB for InfluxDB® from Grafana, you must configure a data source.
To configure a data source, log on to the Alibaba Cloud TSDB for InfluxDB® console, choose Grafana Visualization > Data Source Management. On the page that appears, click Add Data Source.
Enter a data source name, select a TSDB for InfluxDB® database and an account name, enter the database account and the password, and then click Test Connection and Save.
After you complete the preceding configurations, go to the Service Access and Account page, and click Log On to Grafana.
On the page that appears, enter the username and the password to log on to Grafana.
After you log on to Grafana, you can create dashboards based on the data source that you have configured. For more information about how to create dashboards, see the Grafana documentation.
