When a host in an ApsaraDB for MyBase dedicated cluster needs maintenance, or when you do not want the system to allocate instances to a host, disable instance allocation for that host. The system stops placing new database instances on the host until you re-enable allocation.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure that you have:
An ApsaraDB for MyBase dedicated cluster with at least one host
Access to the ApsaraDB for MyBase console
How instance allocation works
Instance allocation is controlled at the host level. The Allocation Status field on the Hosts page reflects the current state for each host.
| State | System behavior |
|---|---|
| Enabled | The system includes this host in the candidate pool when creating new instances. This is the default for all hosts. |
| Disabled | The system excludes this host from new instance placement. |
Enable or disable instance allocation
Log on to the ApsaraDB for MyBase console.
In the upper-left corner, select a region.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Hosts.
Find the host you want to manage and choose More > Enable/Disable Instance Allocation.
Select Disabled or Enabled, then click OK.
